1.) When he walked on the water and saw the waves.
2.) When he denied Jesus (thankfully, I'm not there yet. But it's hard being a Christian these days).

In christian teachings (how i was raised) says that its okay to date/marry someone of a different religion and have your kids raised in a different religion because they are sanctified through you. Is this true, or can someone give me their point of view atleast.

when you don't really care or want anything to do with them? For those who believe in religion, do you think God sent these people to you for a reason. Do you think they have something to tell you that's important?

If neither of this is the case, do you think these people who so desperately want to be apart of your life want something from you?

"I had motives for not wanting the world to have meaning; consequently I assumed that it had none, and was able without any difficulty to find satisfying reasons for this assumption. Most ignorance is invisible ignorance. We do't kow because we don't want to know. The philosopher who finds meaning in the world is not concerned exclusively with a problem of pure metaphysics; he is concerned to prove that there is no valid reason why he should not do as he wants to, or why his friends should not seize power and govern in a way that is most adavantageous to themselves...For myself the philosophy of meaninglessness was essentially an instrument of liberation being political, economic and sexual. I thought this was the most honest quote I have read by any atheist. Any thoughts?

Where in the bible does it say that you must drink the Body and Blood of Christ? Did Jesus give authority to priests to carry out the ritual of the last supper to turn the blood into his body and the wine into his blood?

he kills everyone but Noah's family.

so Adam and eve reproduce and their children reproduce, with each other - GROSS!

2 all of their children are children of incest and continue to multiply until there are millions of inbred cousins, bothers & sisters, etc - still - WAY GROSS!

Then he reduces the inbred world to only Noah's family who are all relatives by blood regardless of marriage.

They start all over again with the oncestous worl population thing.

No we know it is a scientific fact that inbreeding of jumans leads to metal retardation and birth defects (See European Royalty & Arkansas) The more the incest continue the more severe these defect become.

So my question is: If we are all the products of millenia of incest how is it the vast majority of us are noraml and without birth defect? If the bible were true I would expect this to be a planet of people that look like the mutant family from the Hills Have Eyes rather than what we have today.

Please - Explain:

The League already took on the movie world in 2006 to denounce the blockbuster "The Da Vinci Code" and its central tenant that Jesus Christ had a child by Mary Magdalene whose descendants still survive today.

-------

"central tenant"? There was a resident in the middle of "The Da Vinci Code"?

I weep for the journalism industry, if these are the writers and editors of today.

All too often we have been accused of being "evil" soley because we either don't or can't buy into the idea of a "Loving God" who passes judgement upon us merely for the way in which we worship divinity. So, what's YOUR take on this GOOD and EVIL view that the mainstream Religions impose upon us?

I used to think Islam was all about violence too until I researched it and found it wasn't about violence at all. Anyone who claims to be Muslim but is out killing REALLY took the scripture out of context. The Quran states not to hurt anyone except in self defense and when the enemy wants peace, give it to them! Do any of you see this too or are you all still caught up in the media coverage?

Violence sells, peace doesn't.

Woe unto thee! and woe again!

Then woe unto thee! and woe again!

Does man think that he is to be left alone without purpose?

Was he not a drop of fluid, emitted forth?

The he became a clot, then God gave him shape and perfected him.

Then He made of him a pair; the male and female.

Has not such a one the power to raise the dead to life?

I know the basic differences between them pertaining to the Torah, Tanach and Talmud, and I know that they all believe in the coming of the Jewish Messiah, but how do the criteria in determining the Messiah differ from the Rabbanites since the Karites and Samaritans do not believe in Maimonides 13 Principles? Which is the oldest branch of Judaism out of the three?

This blows me away, it was asked as a question and I was expecting some good answers and debate. If you cannot handle handling tough questions perhaps you should try something else like watching paint dry or something. I will forgive this person however for trespassing against me.

Wouldn't God be smart and sympathetic enough to understand that some people in this world do not become atheists for no reason, but rather because they are genuinely curious and interested in logic and science? What's wrong with that? I'm 18 by the way, and a former Roman Catholic. You don't need religion to lead a moral life. I don't smoke/do drugs/drink alcohol. My grades are good, I have a job, and I've never once broken the law. I've never had sex for fear of STD's and unwanted pregnancy. Adults (including my parents) often comment I'm a good kid, and that I'm not a "typical" teenager.

We should accept the Bible for what it is: often wise and inspirational, but many times filled with error and cruelty. It is an important historical relic, and the original seed from which much of ethical theory in the Western world has developed, but its words must be discussed, analyzed and evaluated on their merits -- as the writing of men, not of God. It does not claim to be anything more.
OH AND REPORT ME IF IT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER. IN THE MEANTIME FATHER GUIDO III WILL BE ON THE HORIZON. I RECEIVED TWO VIOLATIONS FOR ASKING "IS JESUS DIVINE?"

I see that people love to say that the reason why we go to hell is because of our own choices, our "free will". But it is the will of the "omniscient" God for "all" of humanity to go to heaven:

no Free Will?-
Why does God give the effort to try to save us if He knows we will go to hell from birth?

or

not All?-
Does He use half of us as a example/sacrifice for the other half to go to Heaven?

or

not Omniscient?-
How can God be perfect while not knowing everything about a human's choices?
