First... There is no such place as Hell (see first link).
Second... The dead don't go anywhere, when they die, except to the grave -- no spirit, no soul (see second link).
Will God destroy recalcitrant atheists forever in the Lake of Fire? Yes. Why? Because they've chosen, by their word and action, not to be part of God's Universe and to have no part of the Life God gave them. Therefore, He gives them what they most desire -- eternal death. He doesn't want to, but it *is* their choice.
God bless.

If he exists in the way the Bible claims he does, he rules through fear. People who believe in him want to do good deeds so they can get into heaven instead of hell. A Machiavellian leader is not one to be respected. If he was the great God that so many claim him to be, he would send people to hell for not believing in him. If he did that, the devil would certainly be getting the better of the bargain. Either Christians have got it wrong about who goes to hell, God is a leader undeserving of our respect, or he doesn't exist at all. You cannot claim that he sends people to hell for not believing in him and say that he is an awesome, loving God. Those two statements contradict each other. Only one of the two may be logically believed in.

@jhun, Dave C - We atheists don't believe there's any such place as hell. So how can we *possibly* choose to go there?
@Apostle Jeff - Dr. Dino, a.k.a. Kent "I don't need to render unto Caesar" Hovind, is so loopy that even other creationists are avoiding him. His Web site cannot be taken seriously by rational people. If science supports the Bible, then how come we didn't find out about the neat scientific discoveries until science came along?
@Dave C - Just because most (not all) atheists don't believe that there is any afterlife doesn't mean that we *want* eternal death. (Analogy: I don't believe that i'll inherit a million dollars. Does that mean that i don't want a million dollars?) You cannot generalize us, especially not with a non-sequitur.
@Me, RockaSta, alyssa, indianboy305 - Matthew 5:22. (Don't pass the buck to God; *you* cited the psalm, indicating that *you* agree with it; therefore *you* are calling me a fool. It *should* also be obvious that atheists do not acknowedge the Bible as an authority, therefore quoting it at us is a completely pointless exercise. Why you continue to do so baffles me.)
N.B. As an atheist, i cannot answer the question. However, i felt that i had to address just some of the foolishness posted here.

God does not deliver Atheists to Hell. He deliver unrepentant sinners there. If an atheist is going there that's for an identical reason every person else could go there - insurrection against God and his commandments. info isn't lacking for a supernatural author. the subject is that folk who have faith that are looking in the incorrect places for their certainty. Your loss of info isn't evidence of God's non-existence. in case you do no longer come to God on his words he will teach you no longer something, and permit you to have faith each and every lie you elect to have faith. in case you humble your self sufficient to seek him out you will locate him. each and every individual outdoors of Christ is spiritually blind. you will in no way have info of God's existence until you repent of your sins incredibly and with all sincerity and ask God to cleanse you of them. once you do this you are going to recognize previous all doubt that he exists and which you do no longer ought to flow to hell except you elect to.

Hell [ Hades ] is simply man's grave.
At the moment, we all go there.
But god's original plan did not involve death. He intended for man to live forever.
It was only when Adam and Eve disobeyed that death started.
(GENESIS 2:16-17) And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: “From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. 17 But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die.”
And look waht revelation says.
(REVELATION 20:14) And death and Ha′des were hurled into the lake of fire. This means the second death, the lake of fire.
No death=no graves.
therefore Hades is man's grave.
The lake of fire is simply destruction...nothing survives in fire.
It is symbolic.

Because you are brought up on the religion of self-righteousness.
Remember, all that you done is but filthy rags before God and deserve hell for all eternity. You do not see your pride, flaunting your self-righteousness...........Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Like a condemned prisoner in a death row............all his/her righteousness will not deliver from the penalty of the law that was broken. He/She may be model prisoner, uses toothbrush to scrub the prison toilets daily....in establishing all the righteousness; BUT YET STILL CONDEMNED BECAUSE OF THE BROKEN LAW AND THE NEED TO PAY FOR THE PENALTY OF THE LAW.
Alas, you cannot see your own depravity or that you had broken the law and the need to pay for the penalty of the law; for the wages of sin is death.......

It's either live your whole life wondering WWJD or living your life to whatever degree you want and facing Hell - if there is any hell - in the afterlife, which there is a small possibility there might be, some possibility there isn't.
I'll just go jump into the flames now. It's way too cold up here, anyway.

i don't see why he should, some people are raised to not to believe in god and most of the times you are raised to belive in what your parents or your suroundings belive and if you don't have that impression to believe in it you won't believe but if you was taught you would believe. but if some one grew up not beliveing like what they was taught or noone had that impression on them to do so then they have no way of knowing. i don't think god should punish the ones who had no chance of believing cause it wasn't taught to them. also i feel you can break the laws but not gods laws, you wont go to hell breaking peoples laws only god's laws.
sorry if this offends anyone just my thoughts.

So on a scale of 1 to 100 you sound like a 90? Have you ever sinned? "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord". With out a Savior, not Roman Catholicism, you don't have a snowballs chance in hell.

Just because you believe in logic and science doesn't mean you don't have to believe in God and even so, if you don't believe in God then does the answer to this question even matter?
It shouldn't be a matter of 'if' he's real he should except me for not believing in him. You either believe or you don't. Sounds like your a little unsure. Pick aside to root for.

Becuase He has a specific purpose and plan for us and wants us to join Him in that purpose and plan.Choosing otherwise does not make God a happy camper will get you the wrath of God
Take a good look, a good long look at the world a few times, then come back and tell me people are perfectly moral without God.
