Ive always been so very infuritated with Christians who do not know the contents of their own Book. Ive read the Bible cover to cover twice, and have studied the more interesting parts tenfold. But most basic arguments for the existence of God are refuted by the Bible itself! The nativity story is historically impossible, and was written to please religous factions so that prophecies could be said as "true". The gospels are just choc-full of historical impossibilities, and as we all know, other chapters such as Genesis have been abandoned alltogether and said to be "metaphorical". The truth of the matter is that the Bible becomes more and more metaphorical with each passing day, because the "truth and Word of God" simply cannot stand up to modern man.

I completely agree. Not only is it merely the work of men, it has been edited and revised on countless occasions. The most influential revision occurred during the 300's CE, after the Council of Nicea. Before there was any "official" Scriptures, the Church clubbed together and decided to filter out books that contradicted what they wanted to teach. The highest ranking Church members voted on what they wanted their official doctrines to be. The most important one was deciding whether they wanted to teach that Jesus was divine and the literal Son of God, or if he was just a very important prophet. It was close, but they decided that Jesus was divine. They then eliminated any book in the Bible that stated different from this. About 40 different Gospels were circulating at the time, but they cut the number down to 27. Any other texts that were found were burned. They also eliminated any Old Testament books that referred to the coming Messiah as a mere human sent by God, and not God himself. The remaining ones underwent serious revision by the Vatican. They had their scholars copy out and translate (poorly) new versions of the Bible. The scribes had to work at such fast paces that these were unavoidable. Some of these mistranslations were so immense that they have completely changed the Christian religion. For instance, the word that was translated as "virgin" that was used to describe Mary would instead be correctly read as meaning "young girl." Nothing in the original Bible claims that Jesus was born of virgin. The entire idea of Immaculate Conception is only inferred from these texts.
Anyone who use the Bible as evidence are quite foolish and don't understand its history.

All of those are a case of individuals in basic terms believing what they % to have self belief. talk with a rabbi sometime approximately mistranslations interior the Bible. Or an orthodox Jew. There are some somewhat great thoughts approximately mistranslations and translations that are type of authentic yet no longer possibly what human beings of the situations could have meant. Take each and all the numbers stated interior the Bible. There are what, 10,000 human beings interior the e book of existence who will easily get into Heaven? nicely, that 10K easily potential an excellent volume of individuals, no longer a precise quantity. besides, Literal observe of God + What i % to have self belief + a faith this is Like an inventive License = cutting-part Christianity, fairly on Yahoo solutions. I accept it on my own terms. A document that was edited by men. A document that tries to record the wonders of God but has had these wonders (again) interpreted by men of an age long ago.
Much of what is in the Bible is very true, some is an attempt by the men of that age to put into ink an understanding of the miracles they have seen.
To me it would be the same as if I asked you to describe to me the color blue.

I DO accept it for what it is: the TRUE word of God. God is infallible, blameless, sinless and infinite in wisdom. He cannot make mistakes because He is without sin, so His word IS Holy and true! It is the inspired word of God and written by holy men of God. God gave them direction and guidance with His Holy Spirit to write the bible. If you don't believe it, then that's your choice, but rejecting God comes with a price to pay. I do hope you will read it and learn from it.
