for one thing i am agnostic yet i don't have any problem with any religion or faith but i see dozens of different kinds of Christianity and people twist it to there ideals and what they think is right why the hell do they do that? it breeds hatred and to many other problems. I'm not saying you cant have your own believes just don't do something openly that you know will cause major problems or someone doesn't like and know they will react badly to it. And don't say "cant i voice my opinions" well yes you can but you have to realize when its a bad idea and not the best time or place to do so. Do not say or do something just for the sole purpose of bothering someone else because you know it will. There is plenty else i can say about this BUT i know when to stop so that i don't purposely offend people. I just want to know other peoples opinion on this matter.

Is it just perspective? Circumstance? How much of the positive or negative do you either attract or create on your own, regardless of the rest of the world?

It has dawned upon me that 1/6 people on this planet, ie all the cristian jesus followers, have quite possibly been duped in to believing in a total myth. Yes, a total myth. This has got to be the biggest and most blatent fraud for a good number of centuries ?

If that is the case, should the "Fraud of the Age" award be given to jesus?

My opinion is that a lot people are too religious, but nowhere near spiritual enough. Spiritual people don't harass others and threaten them with imaginary torture. What do you think the single biggest problem with religion and spirituality is?

if you, as a fundamentalist Christian, would be willing to read carefully (and be prepared to discuss) one chapter (of my choice) of Dawkins' The God Delusion.

This is an ideal opportunity to potentially make a convert.

With so many religions, I am completely confused...

I want to know if the Mormons are right or are they wrong???
What if The Muslims are right???

Personally I am Non-Denominational and I was raised in a Baptist family. My employer is Jahovah's Witness and I work and live here in Utah where it's at least 70 % LDS.

How do I know what and who's right so I can get to heaven???

Mosiah 2: 21 I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.

I know it is not in the bible, so if you feel you can see through your defense mechanisms to answer please do. I would love to know what you think.

I think anyone who cliams to believe in both is contradicting themselves. It completely confuses me.

1. According to the bible, the entire human race is born from Adam and Eve, not evolution. The notion of "original sin" also came from the notorious two.

I've heard the argument "This is just a fairytale, I believe Jesus died for my sins and in Darwin's theory of evolution.

2. Jesus died on the cross to save his people from original sin. The basis of Christianity. How can people dismiss the story of Adam and Eve as fictional when they're whole faith hangs on the original sin they are said to have created??

I'm Atheist btw, and I would love to understand this. It makes no sense to me. Well nothing in terms of religon really does.

I would personally call her "Birthday Girl" but I'm interested to know what awesome qualities you all see and now in her.

Tigger is turning 20 today. She is one of the most intelligent people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Tig is already in law school. She is brilliantly analytic, logical, and suffused with knowledge. At the same time she remains modest, kind, spiritual, and incredibly tuned in to the feelings of others. She is by far one of my closest friends on here. I'm crazy about Tig.

Please take time, if you know Tig, to wish her a happy birthday and let her know what 'role' she really would play in a Buddhist philosophy. This is one girl I could see reaching nirvana.

Happy Birthday, Tigger. Love you.

Why don't they focus on who really matters, and that is Jesus Christ. Did Mary take away the sins of the world? Is Mary God in the flesh? Did Mary die a horrible death on the cross so we sinners could be saved? Did Mary plan the salvation? Did Mary really have a choice in it? Could she have refused God? Please put the Glory where it belongs---On Jesus Christ, our living God, who was in the beginning, and already had the plan set in motion!!!!!! He is the one we should focus on and worship. No one else!

I understand that the original records were written in a language other than our own, but why must there be so many different translations of God's scripture? It would be one thing if the different translations all said/implied the same thing, but having so many versions out there causes so many people to be confused and misled. There are people out there who claim that you cannot "change or add to the word of God" and yet those very same people are reading from a Bible that was translated very recently. It is my belief that many plain and precious truths have been lost as a result of bible-altering philosophies of man. What do you think?

Multiple Choice

A) The capacity to believe that which you know to be untrue.

B) To accept as true without evidence.

The bible calls faith "The substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." This fits in with B.

If A or B are true, why is that virtuous? Why does nobility of faith increase as the amount of evidence decreases?

Also. Is faith intellectually honest?

How is the Book of Mormon as a supplement to the Bible justified? According to that law from God, it is adding to his word which no one is supposed to do.

If god made all the animals, then made man does that mean that they were only males like Adam?

If god had only made boys up until then, did he have to pull a rib from all the other animals?

If he made all the animals with mates first, then why would he have neglected man?

Is this evidence for the Eve creation story being metaphorical?

If this evidence for Adam being a hermaphrodite?

It fascinates me to read the Q & A in the R & S section of this site. I see all manner of religious beliefs displayed and explained here.
Religion, regardless of it's details is vital for human existence. I think that it doesn't matter what your religion is, but it's important to life to have the ability and desire to believe in SOMETHING. People must have hope. Without that, there is nothing.
My question is: if you are on this site to shout that yours is the only "right" religion, or if you are on here to shout that "there is no God", what is your purpose? What will you gain by doing this?
