Worship means service. Little did you know that you serve (worship) the adversary by disobedience.

Worship is the re-establishment of the word within you to go with Christ Jesus. It is not a term, it is a reality like men in football hitting each other to get in the mood of the game. Itt prepares men and women to accept the presence of God as he is, Without it, we create all images and false doctrines of things that create confusion within the body and denies Christ in its members.

The term worship is what Lucifer held before he rejected God. He desired the power that was in it. The joy of prayer not being monotonous is more than any rigid prayer if it is meant both by the heart and soul. Do you not know that Lucifer still desires that, because praise is the very essence of man where God-like power flows. Did you not read that after God gave the praise to the holy-spirt, that David called men (both sexes) little gods after his image.

Lose your praise, Lose yourself.

It is Lucifer that originally had the most exalted position in Heaven, worshipping God and heralding all angelic beings to worship God with him.

But the idea of worship took a backseat when Lucifer became more self-absorbed, later turning that very same passion to worship God into a prideful act of rebellion against His authority.

So, Lucifer was cast out of Heaven, and became the devil of the depths of hell (Isaiah 14:12), along with his rebellious entourage of fallen angels.

It is then God created a new creature, perfect in His image, on earth, for the purpose of fellowship, but most of all, replacing the devil's most exalted position in Heaven, to worship the God Himself.

Worship not only gives honor to the God that created us, worship also brings us to a safe place, His Throne Room, The Holiest of Holies, where the devil himself does not want to and cannot go! For the devil chose NOT to worship God in the beginning! The devil is too prideful to suddenly back-peddle and say he wants to worship God now. Yet he is too full of inquity; his pride is a sin that cannot produce sincere unfeigned worship for the Lord.

Worship is a win-win situation. Worship glorifies God. And worship keeps us close to the Lord and in the safety and security of His refuge, away from the harm of the devil and his kingdom, the world.

Seth ! ... What a bunch of nonsense at that link ! It's like someone explaining the rules of Dungons and Dragons .

I feel that IF god existed , he would much rather you honor him by doing good works in his name instead of saying prayers and lighting candles . For instance 1 hour of helping out at the hospital instead of 1 hour of kneeling and saying "O' God how great thou art and we are but your servants" . In fact IF there is a god I would venture a guess that he would rather you not believe in him and donate your time at the hospital than to be a believer and treat him like a worldly king with all those "How great Thou art"s.

Dr. Trophy Wife . So you are saying that "god" produced a being more powerful than man , and then told him your "job" is to spend your existence worshiping me for all eternity, and to call all the other angels to worship me .

No wonder Lucifer rebelled ! Sounds like god was one of those "Don't dare have your own life . Keep me company and then worship me and I will give you a cookie ." mothers .

God was so insecure that he created lot and lots of beings to stand around ( fly around ?) and worship him ? Sounds like god is a nutjob !

Why can't you fundies just ADMIT the Bible doesn't make sense and it was just a bunch of little fictional stories meant to convey a message ? ! !

The concept of worship gives life meaning. It brings people together toward a common goal.

It's a person thing between someone and God. I love to go to church and worship Him...but you do not have to be in church to worship. I just feel such a connection when I am giving Him some personal time.

The bible says , if we worship God we are to Worship Him in Spirit and in Truth

The only Spirit and Truth there is , is Jesus Christ.......

We are to abide in HIM ( HIS WORD) and allow HIM ( HIS WORD) to abide in us............
If we abide in His Truth then do we worship Him by it........and we lift up holy hands to Him in praise for it !!!!!

Thats Worship..........Time with Gods Word which is Him
Fellowship is the same........Being together with GOD

It's a psychological phenomenon to alleviate feelings that YOU THINK are being burdened on someone else... when in reality you've tricked your mind.

Any god conceited enough to demand worship isn't that great. Religion pushes the idea of worship because it helps bind the group together, which helps keeps the converts converted.
