why do the vast majority of believers pay for health insurance? if you think the "almighty, creator of the universe" is on your side, why do you need to human doctors? if you are really correct in your beliefs, you are putting an unnecessary burden onto health insurance companies and after 2008, the new state-run health insurance. sure, these companies make profits but you are also using up resources that bankrupt hospitals need because you dont believe what you preach. this is partly why a simple 1.5 hour deviated septum (in the nose) surgery costs around $30,000. ridiculous.

It wasn't talking about flowers. It wasn't talking about Folger's coffee. It wasn't talking about a crisp spring morning in Appalachians. It wasn't talking about a field of verdant clover.

It was talking about the smell of burning flesh.

How come the Bible god was so fond of the smell of burning flesh?

How about this: It was Moses who loved the smell of burning flesh, and so the god he invented did too.

What kind of explanation might the church folks offer?

I think one of the major reasons there is such an uprising of militant atheism is because of the whole creation/I.D debacle. Its really given atheists a cause to get behind. Your thoughts please?

Let me get this straight: I have a popular book on general knowledge called "Tell me Why" that I bought a few years ago and even there it is mentioned that the Theory of Evolution is rejected because of two things:

1. Apes and humans evolved along different evolutionary lines.

2. Charles Darwin himself did not accept the theory as the truth, but merely used this theory as a basis for his other researches.

What if some last part of it was lost, forbiding anyone to go to church? What if it was destroyed by the religious men who were scared that they will become poor if nobody goes to their churches? Oh, I think some of you are in real trouble now!

The secret to uinderstanding Revelation is to know what was going on then and there. Then a person with good intentions will not get all screwed up.

It is common knowledge what most religions believe occurs after death whether it be Heaven or Hell, Summerland, etc. But what do you believe occurs before birth?

If you believe in souls, do you believe our soul exists before birth or do you believe it is created at the time of conception?

Last night I fell asleep. In my dream I was also asleep, I kept on hearing my alarm, radio, and tv all at the same time. I had turned everything off before I went to sleep. So i didnt know how that was happening. I was laying down with my eyes closed in my dream and then I heard steps...like someone dragging their feel while they walk. I was scare and didnt know what to make of it. I opened my eyes but did not turn my head. I looked to the side and saw like figure on my left side of the bed. It was a girl about 10 years of age or less she had long hair and two half ponytails with bangs. Se look transparent and I could only see half of her body the rest was not visible. She noticed I was watching her, an she launched her self at me. I was terrified. I felt so heavy I could not move and I cold not speak. I started to pray and pray, My lil daughter was beside me. She had a fever that night, and I told my self I needed to get that spirit off me for her. I pushed her off me and I woke up.

My partner is catholic (not practicing) I am protestant, we originally said a civil wedding, as I am the bride and requested this. We were going to have a civil marriage, but all his family have been married in the local Chapel, I have said ok but I dont want a catholic wedding as I am not catholic. Is this possible. He says it is but I not sure he saying that too get me in the door? The Priest is infact an ex Church of Scotland minister so I not too sure as I think a lot would say No

If not, then why does "God exists but I don't believe it" sound contradictory?

So when Jesus said:
"If you have faith, and doubt not, if you shall say unto this mountain, 'Be taken up, and be cast into the sea,' it shall be done."

He really meant:
"Faith is really powerful. But your faith alone in't really going to move any mountain. If God also wanted that mountain moved at the same time you told it to move, it will happen. But God is only really concerned with spiritual mountains, so by mountains, I mean difficult internal obsticles and still only if God wills it."

Is this right?
