In the animal kingdom, there are animals that mate for life like wolves and then there are animals that "sleep around" like lions.

Humans are just intelligent animals, so I ask, do you think that human beings are monogamous by nature, or promiscuous?

Christians, Atheists, Muslims, Pagans, anybody can answer this, I'm interested in seeing what everybody has to say, but please don't quote your religious text to me as "proof" for why you believe the way you do, I'd like to see it in your own words.

Ok ya'll, what symbol do you use to show your faith in whatever you believe? I know the mainstream ones but many people choose their own symbol. For instance I wear a triquetra pendant and have it tattoed on my back. As a Paganaght, it symbolizes the three Earths. Sky, Land, and Water.

Or is there another or better way? And what would be a good book to help me understand what I don't know in the Bible?

I just read that you can choose to love God. I have always held fast to the belief that you cannot "choose" who or what you love. That you either love something or you don't, it is not a conscious decision. So my question to you is, do you choose who you love or does love choose you?

Catholics claim they do not worship mary, but there are 59 beads on the Roasary, and only 6 for God.

Also, Catholics make the claim that Mary was sinless. I have a problem with this, because it conflicts with God's word where we read that "Jesus is the only Sinless one".

Why to they insist to claim Mary can save you, when only Jesus can.

Does anyone get offended by all the Mary statues that are put on the front lawns of peoples houses. Why must you use statues? And why when one breaks it makes the nightly news?

The threory of evolution holds that we came from a common ancestor to primates, not that we are direct descendents. Almost every species has another species that they share a common ancestor with, but didn't actually evolve from one into the other. Sheesh!

It sounds like a faith very in tune with how I feel. I know so little about it however, like where churches are located, how to convert, things like that.

Lady Hope, who visited Charles Darwin during his last days on earth, has the following to say regarding his views on evolution towards the end of his life:

It was on a glorious Autumn afternoon when I was asked to go and sit with Charles Darwin. He was almost bedridden for some months before he died. Propped up with pillows, his features seemed to be lit up with pleasure as I entered the room. He waved his hand towards the window as he pointed out the beautiful sunset seen beyond, while in the other he held an open Bible which he was always studying.

"What are you reading now?" I asked.

"Hebrews," he answered, "still Hebrews. The Royal Book, I call it." Then he placed his fingers on certain passages and commented upon them.

I made some allusions to the strong opinions expressed by many unbelievers on the history of the creation and then their treatment of the earlier chapters of the book of Genesis. He seemed distressed, his fingers twitched nervously and a look of agony came across his face as he said, "I was a young man with unformed ideas. I threw out queries, suggestions, wondering all the time over everything. And to my astonishment the ideas took like wildfire. People made a religion of them." Then he paused and after a few more sentences on the holiness of God and the grandeur of this Book, looking at the Bible which he was holding tenderly at the time, he said:

"I have a summer house in the garden which holds about thirty people. It is over there (pointing through the open window). I want you very much to speak here. I know you read the Bible in the villages. Tomorrow afternoon I should like the servants on the place, some tenants and a few neighbors to gather there. Will you speak to them?"

"What shall I speak about?" I asked.

"Christ Jesus," he replied in a clear emphatic voice, adding in a lower tone, "and His salvation. Is not that the best theme? And then I want you to sing some hymns with them. You lead on your small instrument, do you not?"

The look of brightness on his face I shall never forget, for he added, "If you take the meeting at 3 o'clock this window will be opened and you will know that I am joining with the singing."

Ok so today I am labeling pagan day for me! Do you guys believe in an afterlife? Reincarnation? If afterlife what is it like? Is it different for each pagan? Does each god/goddess have different heavens, etc? Please excuse my ignorance, I really have no clue. Thanks!

So if part of an atheist purpose in life is to do whatever they feel is good and they must do whatever they have to do in order to survive. They have no big daddy or a silly book telling them not to do something. As long as the people in their community (or people they can see) are not affected. Then whatever that they do is not a crime.

Afterall it is only a crime if a man made law says it is. So if a someone murderers another for money in order to pay for a habit in order to feel good, then why is that considered a crime.

Plus what if it made someone feel good to insult or belttle someone in public. Around a group of peers such tactics can elevate them into "cool" factor. Besides it is high possiblity that they will never see their victim again. So why should they care?

Because if you don't know what to look for how could you recognize God. And I don't mean what people say God is or does.Or do you simply just don't care.

Speaking faith-wise, I am an agnostic atheist - I believe that there is not a God, but science will never prove that he does not exist just as you can't prove purple-spotted unicorns don't exist.

Cultural-wise, I identify as a Catholic because my family is Catholic and I was raised, and baptised, a Catholic. I know that I'm going to marry a Catholic and that I want to have a Catholic wedding. I call myself a Catholic in this sense because culturally, I am one. I was raised like one and still live like one. I set the same morals, the only difference is that I don't believe in God.

So with the logic I used above, may I consider myself a Catholic Atheist, more specifically a Catholic Agnostic Atheist? or is this a taboo/bad/unacceptable? I don't want to offend any atheists, agnostics, or Catholics by calling myself any of these.
