The threory of evolution holds that we came from a common ancestor to primates, not that we are direct descendents. Almost every species has another species that they share a common ancestor with, but didn't actually evolve from one into the other. Sheesh!

Edge: I am talking about evolution theory, not what actually DID or DID NOT happen. It is a theory, and people love to misquote it. That is like me, as an agnostic misquoting the creation story in the Bible. If I am going to argue against something, I really hope I do enough research to not sound ignorant.

People people: this isn't an argument aso whether the Theory of Evolution is legit or not, it is a query into why people misquote it is all. Use those brain cells that developed through evolution.

I think some of you people with diarrhea of the mouth need to actually read her question.

She is not questioning evolution. She is questioning why some people do not understand the simplest premise - that related groups descend from a common ancestor, and the more diverse the groups, the more distant the common ancestor. No one ever claimed that one modern animal (including man) ever "came" from another modern animal.

People who claim to understand evolution and can't grasp the most basic evolutionary tenet are even more stupid than the religious fanatics that would never consider picking up a book and learning. They, at least, make no pretense about being intelligent.

Because they do not beleive in God or read the Bible remeber that scientist beleived for a very long time that the world was flat when all along the bible feffered to the world as a circle (Isaiah40:22) and when they discovered this upon scientific facts much of the world was astonished. Had these people who trust in science been reading their bible they would have known this sooner and not looked ignorant as if they discovered it first. Genesis 1 Explains how our creator proceeded to make man.

It's a straw man argument, a common logical fallacy. The Straw Man fallacy is committed when a person simply ignores a person's actual position and substitutes a distorted, exaggerated or misrepresented version of that position. This false position is so constructed as to be easy to knock down, hence the name "straw man."

This crap was started by the religious fundamentalists that harrassed Darwin after his discovery of the theory of Natural Selection. The fundamentalist preachers of his day tried to redicule him and stated that his theory stated man came from apes and used it to discredit him.

This stupidity continues to this day.

People will believe in evolution but not in God? That is were peole have got lost in believing that an animal will save us. No, God is the one that died on the cross, but people forgot to mention that. So, if we were crated from an animal than that means what is a human? There has to be a catergory between both animals and humans. Some people have a very sick mind, if you ask me.

Check the source. Notice how creationists tend to look very unevolved :O

thisisme-No, that is not and never was what Darwin was saying, read his book if you wish, it's pretty basic stuff. It's not widely 'believed' today, we have enough evidence of speciation that the debate ended some time ago.

why do you ignorant people let theories of man disprove the
exsistence of the Almighty God in your hearts.

speak for yourselves in your foolish unbelief and say that your
class of people have common ancestors with apes.

we believers know that we were created in the image of God

there may be some forms of evolution, but only if its in
God's plan to be so.

science is a good thing, but if people misuse and pervert
to try and say that God doesnt exsist , then they are the ones
that are ignorant!!

Because such people get their scientific misinformation from fundamentalist religious sources, and such sources routinely make such absurd statements because there is no legitimate scientifically based evidence that doesn't support the fact of evolution. Pretty sad when you have to lie and deceive in order to hang onto your religious beliefs. I thought Christ said the truth would set us free?
