So if part of an atheist purpose in life is to do whatever they feel is good and they must do whatever they have to do in order to survive. They have no big daddy or a silly book telling them not to do something. As long as the people in their community (or people they can see) are not affected. Then whatever that they do is not a crime.

Afterall it is only a crime if a man made law says it is. So if a someone murderers another for money in order to pay for a habit in order to feel good, then why is that considered a crime.

Plus what if it made someone feel good to insult or belttle someone in public. Around a group of peers such tactics can elevate them into "cool" factor. Besides it is high possiblity that they will never see their victim again. So why should they care?

Had to put up a 2nd window to respond to the cookie cutter responses.

Since when does evolution have anything to do with morality? Evolution is changing of something into a better form or way. Morality does not meet those standards. A family of theives and selfish individuals can evolve into a family of manipulators. Just because they manipulate their way through life doesn't mean that they are less moral. Morality gets in the way of evolution, in order to have unchallenged evolution you can't be bothered by silly things such as morals.

You don't need a book or pie daddy, however some will idolize Hawkins as if he a prophet or something. Yet you abide the laws made by man. So if man has evolved to be moral, then why is there any reasons to have laws to regulate the immoral? Are you saying that some have evolved to be immoral?
___

About that no atheist in prison bs. Since an atheist will have no quams about lying and saying they are a theist to get by, common sprd bs.

A Plague on your houses,

"That is the biggest chunk of nonsense I've read in a long time. "
Oh common don't be so harsh on yourself.

"You're not describing an athiest, but a sociopath."
You made the connection not me.

"If you can't deal with the difference between "sin" and "crime" then I'm sorry for you. A crime is a violation of secular law. "
Uh huh?
"No reasoning person would justify committing a crime based on the justification you've provided."
So there is justification for commiting a crime. Due tell.
"What a rant. I don't know where to start, but you're wrong"
Lets start with a typical atheist cookie cutter response.

"Unlike you, we use common sense and logic and our MINDS to determine when something is wrong, and not a 'big daddy' or 'silly book'. "

Who is YOU. Darn I want that name. Anyway, what if it was common sense to commit a crime, what path do you take.

There are people who aren't sociopath who don't feel guilty when commiting a wrong against another. After all their moral code tells them that what they did is exceptable. Smart _ _ _ , for asking a question? So emotional.

Though they deny it, the fingerprint of God still graces every life. It's called the conscience. And thank God for it. :)

I think you are confusing the word "crime" with sin. A crime is whatever the law in the land you reside in says a crime is. Breaking the law is a crime. A sin is something else. Sometimes the two are the same. Murder is a sin and a crime. But there are things God does not say are sins that countries make crimes sometimes. One is secular and the other up to God. And then, if you have a god who does not really exist, who cares? But the law can still come after you. Then, maybe you'd need the real God?

LOL-Yeah, I and the millions of ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Chinese, etc. all don't commit murder b/c of the Buy-bull. Get real. Each person has an inner guide as to whether they feel something is moral or not. In fact, I struggled for years wondering how I could be more loving and forgiving than God...since he was supposed to be a 'loving father'. Yet, my punishments would not have been nearly as severe as Gods were in the OT.

Urm, atheists (at least by default) aren't sociopaths. Normal people feel something (ie:guilt) when they cause harm to someone. Do you seriously need a religious code just to tell you that hurting others is wrong?

And your "comebacks" are just priceless. Being a smart-*** doesn't make your argument valid chum.

The old "atheists have no morals" argument?

Slow night here.

I DO NOT need a book to tell me right from wrong. Humans evolved empathy as a means of self-preservation; we came to realize that if it hurts me, it hurts another and vice versa.

Just for laughs, check out the incredibly disproportionate amount of Christians in jail versus atheists. They have their book of law, but they don't obey it very well.

Just because a person doesn't believe in God or man-made laws does not prevent him/her from paying the consequences. A person who belittles or insults another may end up on the wrong end of a big stick.

Atheists are still subjected to the laws of the land so not it is not impossible for them to commit a crime.

Anyone with even half a brain knows that.

Because of common sense. Evolution has instilled a certain degree of morality in us and other primates.

This question represents a frequent confusion about the origin of moral codes. These derive from evolution, which applies to societies as well as to species: a society which adheres to a sound moral code will survive preferably to one that does not. Obviously, moral codes apply to atheists as well as to anyone else.
