Is there anybody else who feels an absolute joy and sense wonder and fulfillment when learning about the true scientific reasons for the how the universe and everything that is in it came to be ?

Do you feel an immense sense of wonder and amazement when you contemplate the sky at night and marvel at all we have learnt about our orgins and existance and all that there is still to know ?

Finally do you think that this joy and wonder is far superior to simply accepting ancient dogmatic myths as a way of explaining the world around us

Between astrology and psychology?

Should students have the right to know that not everyone thinks that the mind is based on biology and experiences but also the position of stars and planets?

I must be out of my mind to ask this.

Nevertheless, I'm opening this up to the few but vocal fundamentalist Christian folks who make a point to zero in on any question that has to do with Catholicism -- especially questions about certain beliefs and practices -- and pour out condemnatory rhetoric.

Honestly, why do this? WE GET IT, and so does everyone else, even (perhaps especially) non-Christians. You have serious issues with Catholicism. I can respect that, especially as a former Baptist. I defend my faith, yes, but I don't seek out questions on teachings I disagree with to spout off my opinion and slam those who believe them -- though there's certainly no lack of opportunity to do so here.

If you must rehash the same objections to Catholicism over and over, would it be asking too much to temper that with a bit of Christian concern for our souls once in a while? Or have you written all of us off as hopelessly lost?

The floor is yours, brothers and sisters.

They say it's for reproduction reasons, we're mammals, instincts and whatnot.
If it's for reproducing, why do we use protection then?

Creationists keep asking why they do not see natural selection and recombinant DNA happening right before their eyes. I think I figured out why. Creationists think the world appeared about 6000 years ago. Unless you are a supporter of Bishop Butler who insisted that the universe was created 4004 years ago on Oct 12 at 8:30 AM. It was a Tuesday. Evolutionists think the world started 6 to 8 billion years ago. Those numbers have to be put into practical applications to be understood. If you change it to inches, 6000 inches is a 50 story office building, half the size of the late World Trade Centers. 6 or 8 billion inches is a third to half way to the moon, 125,000 miles. Could that by why they are so confused? They don’t understand the times involved?

Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith . . . not by works.
HOW MANY HERE, ARE TAUGHT WRONG?

we're not saved, by good "LOVE WORKS" we're saved by confessing HIS TRUTH over our lives..as well witnessing this truth..that JESUS death and resurection has saved us all..that is FAITH spoken..and standing on it..So with the same measure of FAITH here..is how one get 'healed, delivered, and prosperous" for HIS GLORY..for it not by our might..nor by our will power..but by His SPIRIT..we are saved..healed..blessed..resurrected adn seated right now..in heaven..spiritually speaking "IN CHRIST" as yet..we are bodily here on earth..is there an amen?

to them disagree...then so with manners..like american has.

1.I believe that the Lord our God is One God.
2.I believe that there is the Father,Son,and Holy Ghost.
3.I believe that these are three different entities.
4.I believe that these Three must exist in order for God to fully exist in man.
5.I believe that there is One God in heaven, But in order for us to receive the fullnes of God we need all Three parts (or stages) of Him in our lives. That is why we are to be baptized in the name of the Father,Son and Holy Ghost.

Asked yourselves, Can I do without God? Can I do without Jesus? Can I do without the Holy Ghost? And the answer is no we cannot maintain our walk with God without all Three. When we have All Three in us. God becomes One in our lives, just as He is One in Heaven and Earth.

How can all of this be you might ask? He alone is God and He alone can do this.

I remain open to your scripture

i am having a hard time figuring out why christians think their god is anymore real than the other gods. just because a book tells you, does that make it real?

just because harry potter says he's real in the harry potter books, doesn't make him so. he is still just something that's made up.

the other gods had books about them too. the other gods had the virgin birth story as well as many others that are in the bible. most of christianity was "borrowed" from paganism, so how does this make your god more real than the others?

you can't say the truth is in your heart because that's what the followers of the other gods say too.

Acording to some who answered in my last questions, it was stated that Noah's global flood is believed to have occured between the years 2657 - 2300 bce. it is also believed that the flood was powerful enough to carve geological features such as America's Grand Canyon.

If that is to be believed, how do literalists explain Ancient Egypt?

*There is no disruption in their recorded civilization.
*There is no disruption in the Dynastic records of the Egyptian Pharaohs
*Construction of the first Pyramid at the Giza complex commenced in 2630 bce
*The height of pyramid construction was between 2500 - 2400 bce

If a Great Flood wiped out the Earth's population and carved canyons, why was the Egyptian civilization un phased, unintereupted and how did the Pyrimids survive when the flood thousands of Cubic miles of Earh in the Grand Canyon?

I'm just wondering how you reconcile that.
