For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that who so ever BELIEVETH IN HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.

I believe in God and that he exists but I do not follow follow the Christian lifestyle. Based on that scripture, will I have ever lasting life?

Christians, use this question to post an argument against Christianity, and then, using logic and evidence refute that claim. It seems that Christians here only respond to loaded questions, so use this as a neutral forum to respectfully state the case against you and then your rebuttal.

Non-Christians, feel free to do the same. I feel like I would be making a loaded question myself by limiting this to Christian answerers. Remember: stay respectful.

In your mind, how close do you see yourself to being perfect? If on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 is perfection, where do you see yourself? And do you think it's possible to be perfect?

Yeah, humans can make computers and airplanes.

But at least one thing's for sure -- all these millenia have gone by, and primates/apes still understand that you cannot crap in your own nest. They do not destroy their own environment, the place in which (on which) they live.

Collectively, apes and other primates have grasped that concept. Humans cannot even get the message. I wonder what it will take to learn.

I won't even go into the primate ability to resist cultism and kill other apes in the name of crocoducks or the Great Banana... Even more proof of collective intelligence.

Are you really sure that humans are that much more intelligent than primates?

We read in Jude 18, "How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts."

In Isaiah 28:22 we read, "Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord GOD of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth."

These verses are found in 2 Peter 3:3-4, "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

In Proverbs 19:29 we read, "Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools."

Galatians 6:7 however, says this: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."

If I were to accept Christianity, what should be acceptable evidence that what I'm doing is right?

The Bible would need to be substantiated. I woud need to know that what it says is true, and I would need to know that so-called prophecy was actually written before the fact, and that the events claiming to substantiate it were not created by man for that purpose.

I would need to know that Jesus A: Actually existed, B. Actually fulfilled prophecy, C: Actually rose after dying. D. Was who the Bible claims he said he was.

With the ONLY extra-biblical evidence for the man Jesus existing being the copied writings of Josephus, how can a person come to have anything other than a subjective experience of Christianity as true?

You seem to accept every other theory in the universe as fact, so would that do it for you? Would you believe in Him then? Is that what it would take? Would that be enough? This is my first question here, so take it seriously.

I've been told my dad was the nicest man in the world, everyone loved him and for the short time he and my mum were married, they never fought and he never hurt her once. At his funeral they had to have two funeral services as the two floors of the church were packed full and the 2nd service was the same. He died when I was 6months old leaving my mum widowed, depressed, with a small baby to raise without a father. I now have a daughter thats 10months old and I've never appreciated how hard it must have been for her until now.
Everyone says, oh it was just his time. Why? Nothing was good about dying at that time! That's terrible timing!
There's billions of evil wickid people in the world.
Why did God need him, God can solve his own problems.
My dad would have made alot more peoples lives happier alive than being a fukcing 'flower' in Gods garden. What possible reason could he have had to take him!
There will never be a good reason to justify that kind of pain and loss.

There are so many, it's hard to choose, but I'll have to say that, to me, the fellow who was ready to burn his only son alive to please god, and the fellow who did burn his daughter alive because he promised god he would offer him a "sacrifice." And parents wonder why their teenaqe kids wish they'd just let them alone.

do the bad things you do happen to you? has anyone had this...?
personally i think its mental punishment..you judge other people to your own standards its natural,so all the bad things your capable of doing, other people could do to you! or so you think because of your own standards!!
what do you think? have things happened to you that mirror things that you've done? any spooky coincedents?

Isn't marijuana a plant that God would have created?

I really don't know what it would be like for a cancer patient to have that kind of pain. I do know that this weekend I managed to strain a muscle in my upper chest, and no matter what I did I could not get comfortable.

Believe me, if I actually knew how to get some weed and I thought it would help, I would have done it. And this was probably a 5 on the 1-10 pain scale.

Maybe the Christians should worry more about Jesus Christ and less about the Christian Coalition.
