someone once told me that pot came from satan.
.....
it's all good as long as you are responsible with it.

You know, God also created me, and I can use myself to bring about harm on someone else and sin. Just because God created something, doesn't mean we are using it for the right purpose. Remember, it is not God using marijuana, it is humans(sinful, fallen humans. of which i am one(i am not a marijuana user, i mean that i am a sinful fallen human)). We cannot say, "Oh, God created it, that means it must be OK!!" In doing this, we blame God for something instead of ourselves because we are so full of ourselves, we don't want to admit we are wrong.
But, why do Christians see it as bad or sinful?
Because, it requires doing something to your body that harms it. As a christian, the holy spirit dwells in you. that doesn't make you perfect, but it helps you know when you mess up. when we sin, we grieve the holy spirit. Also, as a christian, we a charged by God to keep our bodies, which he created, and the holy spirit dwells in, clean. Smoking marijuana, or anything, can hurt you. All the carcinogens get in your lungs such as tar and ash. Marijuana joints contain more harmful carcinogens than a cigarette, and since marijuana users hold the smoke in their lungs longer, it deposits the harmful substances more. Smoking marijuana can also cause you to make bad decisions when you are high.
I'm sure taking a bunch of substances that tylenol is made of and rolling it up in paper and lighting it isn't good for you. But, if you take it the right way, you can reap the benefits. Marijuana isn't used the right way(that is if there even is a right way to use it). If there was a way to extract the chemical from marijuana that reduces pain and use it to help people, then good.

I'm a Christian. I wish that Marijuana was legal for everyone just like cigarettes are. The Christian Coalition does not speak for every Christian!

There is no Christian memo as to what we need to believe on the matter. Clearly the intent of using marajuana is the problem with it's use. Being used for pain is somewhat different, I for one am open to hear that argument and don't have a strong opinion about it since I can't honestly say I've had enough pain to merit it.

I don't think it is _Just_ Christians. It is a lot more people than that. Marijuana is still considered a mind altering drug. Until that changes there will be laws against it.
I have glaucoma and have been given THC in pill form (no high) to reduce my eye pressure and prevent permanent blindness. Believe me, losing sight, even for a short time is scary.

I'm a Christian
I don't back the Christian Coalition
I believe that marijuana is an herb to be used medicinally just as any other herb -- including for severe morning sickness in pregnant women.
AND I believe it should be legalized everywhere.
The prohibition of cannibis came from the US Goverment, not from Christians.
The REAL reason hemp is illegal:

Yo, GOD did create the plant, man is the one responsible for putting on a negative information about the plant form GOD and his garden of natural plants for our use.
And Christians, well these are people who only think that their way is the only way, plus lablers are not individuals that can think for themselves, and need to be labled.
Free your mind and your *** will follow.

Yes it is a plant that God put on this earth. However, when He placed it here it didn't have T.H.C. in it. Also, because the government tells us that it is illegal, we have to obey the law. If there is a manmade law that does not go against one of God's laws, then we must obey it, otherwise we are sinning. And as a request for all self-respecting Christians, please do not reprimand what you do not know. God Bless.

Heroine, alcohol, and cocaine are also used for "medicinal purposes." My brother, who had no medical conditions before getting hooked on pot would use a "medical condition" to get more. Too many doctors are so willing to write scrips for people who do not need marijuana.
There are so many ways to alleviate pain on the market today, why get stoned? Aspirin is a miracle drug and is also one of the most effective pain relievers ever. PLUS!!!! It is nonaddictive and will not impair judgment.

I don’t have a problem with using it for medical use. I believe the greatest benefit for cancer patients is to help control nausea while going through chemotherapy. If a person can’t keep their food down, they have a really difficult time getting stronger.

The chemicals within marijuana may be distilled into pill form and can be of some help in some cases... I do not know of any "Christians" who are opposed to that... as for the mind altering aspect of smoking dope... yes... we remain oppose to that.
