I read on the answers in genesis website that that the difference between "evolutionists" and "creationists" is that they have different preconceived notions which cause them to interpret facts differently.

I disagree with that opinion, however, assuming it is true. How would a creationist interpret these facts?

1) Humans and chimpanzees share aover 95% of our DNA and overall, animals which are member of the same genus and class share more DNA than animals that are not.

2) The more isolated an environment is, the more unique the animal species found in that environment are.

3) There have been many fossils found of extinct animals, not only dinosaurs, but other animals like ancient fish or bugs. According to the fossil record, there have been countless species which arose and became extinct that there is no record of ever having interacted with man.

If Yahoo were to make Christianity, Judaism, etc., sub-topics of Spirituality, those people wanting to ask and answers questions regarding basic spirituality wouldn’t have to deal with the criticism of religions folks. Some of us don't want to be converted - we just want to study the wonders of the spirit! We respect the beliefs of others and have no desire to convince anybody of anything.

I'm tired of having my answers rated negatively or be criticized by Christians or other groups, I think they should ask/answer in their own group, so the students of spirituality can converse without malice.

I wish everybody peace, health and abundance.

Christians told my mum if she prayed and had enough faith in God my dad wouldn't die and he did. Would more faith have kept him alive?
No insensitive comments please.

All the right ingredients plus heat add up to the creation of an intricate universe, but can't form a tee shirt? Maybe God did create the universe afterall.

She answered a question of mine and I added more details, I went out and when I came back picked a best answer that was posted while I was gone. I missed her reply to me...so I thought I would add her to my contacts so I can remember to answer her questions (the ones she had for me) if I saw her again in a similar topic. It turns out she blocked me after she directly insulted me. Is this cowardly? I am not a troll. Does she just not want to listen to the truth or somebody else's point?

What do you think it means when you attack somebody and then run and hide by blocking them?

There was a Christian who asked me what I was doing. When I said Y/A, he said,"that's garbage",and walked off! I got the feeling that he wasn't interested in anything unless it's church oriented, and that kinda of seems to make the whole idea about Christianity being about sharing your faith, etc. taken kinda lightly to me!( he felt the same about myspace too)I mean, different strokes for different folks, but I don't think it's all garbage!

I was in a house the other day and I think these people are great people and they are Christian.
The thing that didnt make sense to me was the amount of deer heads on the wall.
I find this odd as I would think game hunting would be pretty wrong.
Any thoughts on this. I didnt want to ask them because I didnt want to offend or have them think I judging them. Yet I find this really odd so I was wondering if maybe someone who hunts for game could explain. I can understand hunting for the meat. I dont understand hanging its head up for decoration.
Please this is a serious question.

...The one in the middle has no name, she was made IN FRONT of Adam, and seeing her guts flipped him out so bad he wouldn't have her...that's why Eve was created while he slept! There are other texts besides the Bible... Do you really want a non-Christian Roman Emporer deciding which are "official"?

I'm not religious- just curious.
In war, soldiers kill enemy soldiers and sometimes innocent people in the way. It happens- it's war. That being said, how can Christians go to war and still be considered good Christian person?

I'm sure God doesn't want his followers to kill people- regardless of what their government wants them to do. I'm also sure that followers of the religion are supposed to know that their GOD decides when people die- people shouldn't have that decision, it should be in the hands of their creator.

So, even though I'm not religious, how can you religious people say that war is good when soldiers kill others- therefore deciding when those 'enemies' will end their lives?

christians often answer with "please don't lump us all into the same category" when the question pertains to any negative stereotype about christians/christianity.

i ask these christians, where do you think these stereotypes come from? they come from the masses who think or behave in these negative, stereotypical ways.

instead of getting angry at non christians for their justified stereotypical perceptions of christians/christianity due to the reason mentioned above, wouldn't be a better idea to connect with christians perpetuatting the stereotypes and get them to stop making the religion look bad? or are there just too many of them?

Ironically, it's amazing that those that "oppose" God, CAN'T STOP TALKING ABOUT HIM EITHER!!
Even enemies of the cross can't stop talking about Him. Of course, they're talking about Him is to their OWN destruction.
But yet and still, these souls are compelled to have Jes on theire minds, on threir lips, on their "finger tips". AMAZING!

Like Brooks and Dunn "I believe" or
Tim McGraw 'I got friends that do"
And do you feel odd that you like them?
I like those songs and it sounds like a wonderful lovely idea but it still doesnt make me believe. But I think thats in an odd way thier belief helped them make such a beautiful song.
So I guess what I am saying is I admire their belief. Strange?

Examples of analogies would be an apple, an egg, or water. Water (H2O) why? Water is 100% H2O in the different forms of vapor, solid, liquid. Each serves a purpose and use, but all are water. Not equal in the use or purpose, yet all forms being 100% the same chemical make up, the same water. God is the same in all forms as being God, yet they are all different in their beings, uses and purposes

The problem of abiogenesis (the origin of the first lifeform) is one of the thorniest and most intractable issues in chemistry. Our increasing knowledge of microbiology and earth history has only added to the complexity of what needs to be explained. The simplest life is equivalent to modern bacteria, which is loaded with complex activity, information, and molecular "machines." The fossil record does not give evidence that there was a "prebiotic soup," or that there were any biological precursors to the first organisms, or that the atmosphere was the ideal mix to yield the necessary molecules, or that there was the expected long period of time between when the Earth could support life and when it actually appeared. Evolutionists regularly segregate the abiogenesis problem from the issue of evolution because
(1) it is a challenge they'd rather not be saddled with,

or

(2) it is the most logical point for possible divine intervention.

However, for the atheist there is no escaping this issue; they are obliged to seek out some purely natural explanation.
What hope for an explanation do you have? Are you satisfied to have problems like this that are unanswered, or even unanswerable?

Evolutionist claim that: the world created itself. (the main cause being the "big bang" theory.
Creationists claim God create the world.

Two different views, two different theory. One is wrong one is right.
I don't gonna say who is wrong or right, I just gonna show my something that can be studied or just don't study it.

Evolutionists claim: There was nothing, from the nothing came something (the meteor that caused the "big bang." Such meteor contained life organism (micro) it is yet to be explained where that life came from.

Creationist claim: God created human, first it was dust, then God gave part of His spirit and created the man. The from the man created the woman.

Evolutionist ask Christians: "then, who created God?" Well, the answer may be. If "earth create itself billions of years ago," what make you think God did not create Himself?" And that then he created the world?

Is not less smart to say that a meteor create you? Then worship meteors.

Even assuming that the universe could have popped out of nothingness, why should it have been such an orderly and hospitable one? Is there a scientific, testable answer for this question that does not simply appeal to imagination?

I want to state right off the bat that this is not an "attack." it is simply a question to help my understanding of your reasoning behind some of your political beliefs. I am not some crazy liberal attacking you. in fact, while i do lean toward the left, i also have some right wing beliefs myself. I have studied the bible and went to a christian school. so here is my question. Why do many christians support the death penalty when john 8:1-11 clearly states against this. It is the passage with the adulterer who is going to be stoned and jesus states :"Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.” Since none of us are without sin, then how can anyone betray this. to me this passage is clearly stating that we are all sinners and therefore cannot pass a death sentence on another sinner. this is Gods job. Maybe our interpertations of this passage are different.i would like to hear your take on this. It's not fair for me to make a stance without hearing your side

The Dark Side. Feared by many. Embraced by few. I am one of the few. It is not bad. I no longer fear it as the many weaklings that inhabit this hellish pit called Earth! It felt cold,I was blind, I was angry, I was sad. How I embraced it. I thought about all the bad things that happened to me, all the dark and sad memories. I thought about all the times I was picked on,then I thought about getting my revenge on the bullies and hurting them in sadistic ways. I thought about all the people whom I loved and died in my life. I could also see the future. The dark side told me that my friends would die if I did not embrace what it had to offer. I gained strength through the pain! The dark side will serve me well!
