There was a Christian who asked me what I was doing. When I said Y/A, he said,"that's garbage",and walked off! I got the feeling that he wasn't interested in anything unless it's church oriented, and that kinda of seems to make the whole idea about Christianity being about sharing your faith, etc. taken kinda lightly to me!( he felt the same about myspace too)I mean, different strokes for different folks, but I don't think it's all garbage!

Yes, I agree, he is being too narrow minded.

I've led many to a saving knowledge of Jesus thru Yahoo and a few through MySpace as well.

Right now an Internet troll has been attacking me and I'd appreciate your prayers.

Actually he's been attacking me since about October of 2005 and things are really getting out of hand to the point where I may need to go to court to make him stop.

Maybe he thinks it's garbage just because he doesn't like it, or MySpace. Consider that there is the possibility that it has nothing to do with his faith. His faith may not have anything at all to do with it, and some Christians aren't at all comfortable sharing their faith, and others sometimes share it so enthusiastically that it eventually turns people away.

You said it aptly, different strokes... so just let it go at that.

That is pretty closed minded, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it's due to his christianity. I'm certain the faith plays a role in his close-mindedness, but it's doubtful to be the real reasoning for his dismissive attitude. It's possibly he's had bad experiences with computers, or just sees online as a complete waste of time, or he has some other paradigm.

Like what? Observable facts, the pursuit of truth, and reality?

yes, maybe a little. We all have different interest and what we believe is garbage. Thats just his feelings and shouldn't be considered the only one.

It's not all garbage....

But we do need to be careful of what's out there as Christians.
