I'm an atheist. But the Christian god I used to believe in forgave anyone who asked.
Yes, you need to help yourself. the best way to do this is to seek out a doctor. Doctors will help those who ask. Perhaps if the doctor helps you get back on track it will be easier to reconcile your spiritual life?

There is no God to forgive you.
The only person who can forgive you is yourself. The only person who can address your problems is yourself.
Seriously. You need to address your problems or you can end up dead. Since I see no proof of any life after death there is very little that is worse than death. Would you rather face your problems now, or die?
What is the worst thing that will happen if you face your problems? Will doing so kill you? If not , then it is better than what could happen if you do not face them.
While you are the only one who can fix your problems. That does not mean that others can not help. Seek out professional help. Tell your family or close friends about your feelings, if they are worth anything they will try to help you.
You do have the strength in you to do this.
Good luck.

God loves and accepts everyone as they are. But God does not solve your problems. You need to discern and accept the facts of who and what you are. Then, realizing that you are a worthwhile person, determine in which direction you want to go and reach out to people who can assist you in making that journey, including God if you wish. At no point is it appropriate to either give up or to condemn yourself for weakness. You must constantly reaquaint yourself with the purpose of your campaign and the consequences of backsliding, accepting yourself as a worthwhile person at all times. You are solving a problem, not fixing blame. God works the same way, taking reluctant, "unworthy" and accomplishing great things. It's the results that count, not the "cause " of the "problem".
Eating disorders are symptoms of a syndrome in which the subject feels unimportant and unable to control her own life. The manipulation of nutrition is always in her control, so the disorder provides a release for the anxiety. And any attention the consequences generate create a feeling of her importance to others. This is a coping mechanism that doesn't address the real issues. The solution is to determine why the subject feels worthless and stifled and to deal with those causes. Often family relationships interfere with resolution so family therapy is likely necessary.
But the subject's self-image definitely needs to change. Issues of maturity, personal boundaries and engagement with the outside world are often involved. The need for attention is understandable and important, but part of the therapy is to learn to get outside of yourself, to balance attention between yourself and other people. As the spiritual wounds to your psyche begin to heal, you should feel a call to healthier relationships with other people.
Don't worry about God's forgiveness. It's already done. Concentrate on moving forward.

Okay, my inclination was to make a crack about helping yourself to the last cracker on the plateer, but since this is an eating disorder question...
I'm guessing that what you really need is help reaching the point where you ARE ready to address your problems. If you're nto prayer, maybe THAT is what you should be praying about. It's not easy, but you can beat this. Look to God if you want, but in the end, you really need to look inside yourself, see what's preventing you from dealing with your issues, and do what you need to do. For some reason, you don't really want to be well. Yes, you will still need help, but the first step is really wanting it.
Good luck!!!

You got it!!!!!! Scripture says we are in bondage to many things without freedom in Christ Jesus. Jesus came to do what we could not do, and exists for the same purpose today. Some of these problems may not really be yours. Just turn it all over and be honest.
Here is how I have prayed to some of the things that may trouble you: "Hey, I'm not ready to handle this and the past has proved that I can't handle this. I am giving it to you. Take care of it as you will, and help me stay open to your presence." God moved a lot of things out of my life when I took this simple position in spirit.
Men do not seek God, they run from Him. If you have the 'feeling' you should seek God; most likely, God put it there. If we could help ourselves we would have no need of God's many promises to help. That is what the Lord does best and we do worst.
Read his many promises in Scripture and claim them for yourself, knowing that all things are possible.

God does have compassion on those who need it. not necessarily those who deserve it, but need it. however, God doesn't like laziness. if you're not willing, there's less cnance.
God will forgive anyone who repents (I'm not just talking about salvation itself, I mean you're already saved, or a backslider, and you are sorry and you make the effort to change.
you just addressed one of your problems. its a start
if you think you have an eating disorder, here's some advice:
- consult your doctor for addiction breaking guidance, or to recommend a prduct
- replace it. instead of eating, try excersize or even try making yourself work for food
I also suggest you get a book on it or seek out a therapist if the problems worsen.
God Bless!

God already forgives you. Seeking council with him is the first, correct, step and by seeking God you are addressing the problem. If you didn't feel you were imperfect than you would have no reason to seek out God.

Remember that religion is a crutch for the weak.If you need help, look towards your family and friends who can give concrete advice. You may as well talk to a brick wall if you want to talk to a myth.

Lean on others for the help you need at this time & don't be afraid to ask for the help.
Your wellness is ultimately up to you, no matter what your beliefs are.
If you believe that God will help you then it will be.

God does not help anyone. Haven't you noticed?
Watch tornado coverage - one bozo on this side of the street is thanking god for sparing him, as he removed his neighbor's dead baby from his tree.
as far as eating disorders, if you have anorexia and don't treat it, you will die. your choice.
if you have bulimia, try eating atkins - eliminate sugar and flour and watch cravings disappear.
Start taking responsiblity for yourself. Period.
