This is the underlying reason that they are so interested in geneology. They collect information about dead relatives then baptize them in their church.

I heard years ago, that the Ark of the Covenant was found which was a very hush, hush topic. However, if so, aren't the Jewish people supposed to be building their temple? Where is the proof?

Think of a time-lapse photograph of a firecracker exploding. All the bits that make up the firecracker are seen moving through time as a result of the explosion. Each bit is a 'stream' connected to every other bit at the centre of the explosion.

In the same way, every bit of us and the the rest of the universe is connected at the centre of our explosion: the Big Bang.

And as we are self-aware and sentient, and we are connected to the rest of the universe in the fourth-dimension, it seems reasonable to assume the universe is also sentient and self-aware.

Here's where things get interesting:

If our 3-dimensional bodies are a cross-section of our physical form through the fourth-dimensional axis, would it not also seem reasonable to assume our sentience and self-awareness are the result of a cross-section of the sentience /self-awareness of the fourth-dimensional entity?

Would it be like each cell in our brain contributing to our ability to be sentient and self-aware?

Do you think this is true? I can't imagine Gandhi, who many describe as the most Christ-like person to ever walk the earth, burning in hell. Could Gandhi really be burning in hell because he wasn't a Christian?

You no more believe in the Hindu/Buddhist belief of reincarnation any more than I do. You chalk it up as superstition the same as I. Yet you believe in a heaven, hell, and purgatory.

Your beliefs of heaven and hellcome from ancient Babylonian/Egyptian/Roman/Greek beliefs of an afterlife reward for the righteous and an afterlife punishment for the wicked.

I ask this because I madeacomment that some person on Yahoo answers considered blasphemy and gave me the typical response about going to hell.

And yes I know that most Jews don't believe in afterlife, but many do. I know that most Protestants reject the idea of purgatory and many Protestants beleve in annihilationism/ no hell. I also know that most Moslems reject pugatory also.

Basically all I am saying is that the doctrines of heaven and hell are nothing but rehashed pagan beliefs like many other of your religious doctrines.

I was wondering what the deal is with salvation according to Mormon faith? If I believe in Jesus but not in Joseph Smith, does that mean I don't got to heaven? Is salvation based on Jesus or on Joseph Smith according to Mormon's?

Who could lift such a hammer, ring that bell, or sing that song, and would doing so move them from the past, to the present, and from myth to reality? Every body talks about the Free part of Free Will, who has the willpower to act freelly? A person my have little strength, but, when the Spirit moves the flesh...WATCH OUT!

Don't you believe God can take any myth, fable, or custom and move it to his will?

does that make it the most logical choice for persons looking for a Christian church to worship in?

Catholics claim that the Catholic church was founded by the Apostle Peter - I'm not saying it is or is not, I'm asking "if it's suppose to be the oldest Christian church" does that make it the right church to join?

As a child, i attended a CE school back in the early 90s. The bible we studied back then is completely diffferent to the one of today. I am not christian but was made to attend this school as it was the only school in the area at the time. The bible seems to be full of stories about jesus and doesnt mention anything about the way of life. I also took a quick look into the Quran at around the same time (i am neither a muslim)... and it seems to be written in a different style to the Bible as it has rules followed by anecdotes and then explanations. To me, it is clear that the Bible has changed as i dont recognise it today. Isnt it amazing how the bible an change in front of your eyes and the people (whoever they are at the back) expect us not to notice it.
So why do people still say that these two religions holy books; Christianity and Islam are the same? There teachings are very similar - to me the Quran seems to be exactly the same as to when i looked at it all those years ago

When you ask a question about how the church rose to power and remained in power over forced conversions and coerced conversions and you mention the legality factor that was held for many hundreds of years in several European nations which banned all other faiths but Christianity, they quickly deny it and then point out how Christians were mistreated when it was still only a cult of a few thousand in the Roman Empire. They reject the notion that the rise of their belief system was done and kept by the blood of millions throughout history. From the crusades to witch trials to forced conversions of slaves and natives of the Americas, Christianity does have a bloody history. Why do many modern Christians either act like that never happened or pretend that those were just a few isolated incidents?
