On a more serious question note, I keep wondering: If you join Christianity because you're hedging bets on the afterlife, won't the Xian god know that you're not truly being honest with him? I mean, you're not actually BELIEVING in God, you're just saying you do in the hopes that you'll get a "get out of hell free" card. It seems like the only way for Pascal's Wager to work is with a god who doesn't care overly much about sincerity. How does THAT work? o_O

How many feel that most churches and worship halls could be used more than once, twice, or three times a week to actually serve the community? Not all are like this but many only hold Sunday serrvice and maybe a Wednesday nite. The mortgagues are skyrocketing. Most have kitchens. I have thought this one out for a while and will be looking for solutions to present to the leaders of the various religions. I mean like phone service and hangout for the homeless that want to get back into society by becomming employed (this is a big problem).. Showers so that they could keep jobs. Perhaps serve a meal. Rent it out for meetings.This is question #1

What is so terrible about a group of friends acknowledging each other? Why are people putting rude comments in the recent questions about highlighting certain well known "players." Why do you bother to even click on them unless you have some genuine imput?

Think about this:

There is no God. One who believes in God dies, and ceases to exist. One who does not believe dies, and then ceases to exist.

On the other hand, there is a God. One who believes dies, and goes to heaven for all eternity. The person who does not believe dies, and spends eternity suffering in hell.

Based on this, why NOT believe? Why even risk taking a chance with such enormous implications?

I believe that this line of reasoning has a name, but I cannot remember what it is called, does anyone know?

I know that this is not what one's faith should be based on, but I still cannot understand how any atheist, no matter how proud he or she may be, could risk so much if they are wrong!

What do you think?

Everyone , no matter how "good" they are, MUST have their sins forgiven by God. God has declared that he will ONLY forgive those who repent, and put thier trust in Jesus Christ. This question isn't to tout the power of Satan, but is asked in earnest. An example...

When I become ultra-selfish and go at war with my friend, then this is a sign that I'm into contention, which is not of God.

Some signposts I experience that warn me that I am 'under the influence', so to speak:

Not attending sacrament
Excessive bad language
Perseveration (thinking about the same thing over & over)
Not reading scripture
Fatigue
Intrusive lustful thoughts (lust is normal, but not so often)
Too attached to having things my way
Excessive shopping
Isolation from other church members
Wishing harm upon others
'Heavy traffic' during prayer and meditation (too much thinking)
Watching too much TV/Computer
Feeling I don't deserve love

....and so on...

What is it about being a Christian do you like best? Also, when you became a Christian, how did accepting Christ as your Saviour change your life? I'd like answers from only Christians please, I am interested in people's real life experiences. To all non-Christians, I appreciate that you have different points of view and some have strong opinions against Christianity. But what I am really interested in are the personal experiences of believing Christians. I am a Christian myself and it is something I would really like to hear about. Thank you for understanding.

i know God has allowed muslims to eat the food of jewish and christians. but what does God meant by the word "food"?

is food = vegetables, fruites and meat?
OR
is food = only vegetables and fruites?

i am saying this because these verses in the Quran explains what the word "food" is:

[24] Then let man look at his food:
[25] We pour forth water in abundance.
[26] And We split the earth in clefts.
[27] And We cause therein the grain to grow,
[28] And grapes and clover plants (i.e. green fodder for the cattle),
