Sister, you are totally mixed up. The Roman Empire was never called holy. Where in the world did you get the information that the Roman empire was holy?

The funny thing is none of the people that answered except the one who said they were germanic know what the holy roman empire is.

I always thought that this was all part and parcel of the Roman Catholic Church business, you know, after Constantine did his number at the 1st Nicea Council in 345AD

I've never heard it referred to as "holy" before. But, it was based out of Rome, so it's Roman.
