I think they are still being disrespected, but it has nothing to do with the Bible.Sarah called Abraham lord, but when Sarah said get rid of Hagar and your son Ishmael he sent them away.Men are told to love their wife as they love their own bodies.God said it was not good for a man to live alone, So whats He do ? He creates a woman to take care of him, Adam didn't far very well without Eve.I hate to think what I would do without my wonderful wife.

Actually, many years ago, women were quite respected. The Goddesses are much older than the Gods. Women held high positions in pre-christian Europe. Even the Romans had many goddesses, but eventually, the male gods somehow gained a bit of control, and with that came the downfall of any equality for women.

The Bible says that women are worth 1/2 the value of men, and this was after God came to be considered male.

Still, in many cultures women, gays and transgendered folk aren't looked down on as they are in Christianity. Many native americans value the position of women; indeed many aboriginal cultures do.

Absolutely. If you look at the Bible, women are disrespected in multiple ways. Just ONE "for instance" - women who give birth to a female baby were considered ceremonially unclean three times longer than women who gave birth to male babies.

Well, if the Pagans weren't harassed for thousands of years, you would still see women being more dominant and depictions of the pre-Christian God and the Goddess.

When will I ever see a female pope?

Actually, you are mistaken. Women, throughout the Bible had very important and honorable roles. They were praised and honored for their roles as wives, mothers, and supporters.

no, I think women disrespect their self's, so that is why some have been disrespected,,,you have to give respect to get respect,And you have to respect your self for others to respect you, knowing right from wrong, will bring respect, but not knowing right from wrong brings no respect, God bless the USA and Israel
