I've got a buddy who is a former cokehead from highschool and college and as now "found the Lord". Now whatever is good for him is great, but he is constantly on my last damn nerve with this crap. For instance he says that he wouldn't kill somebody even if it meant his wife and daughter were going to be raped. That's an extreme example but when a guy like that tells me I'm going to hell I got a problem. Anybody else have friends like this.

Rev 7:9 After these things I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. 10 And they keep on crying with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation [we owe] to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

I am in a tough position right now. I was raised in a strict Catholic home and because of a lot of traumatizing things (involving my mother telling my the world would end before I turned 18 amongst many other things) I no longer go to church or believe in most of what the catholic church preaches. My mother does not know how I feel as I have never confronted her on what she did to me as a child and I have never had the opportunity to tell her I no longer go to church. She is very devout and would be devestated if I did not get married in the church. My fiance' who is lutheran has agreed to get married in the catholic church to please my mother. It doesnt bother me to jump the hoops and what-not, because I want to keep peace in my family.
My problem is, I know we're going to have to talk with a priest before we marry and what if it comes out that I no longer believe? I'm really not one to lie, so if the priest finds out that I'm doing this just for my mom, will he still marry us?

Some people can live into their 100's! Well done them. I think the last one I read about in the newspaper even used to smoke a cigarrette everyday too!

I'm sure if they were a religious family, they would have prayed for them to be alright. Clearly, since no-one human yet has lived forever, a few people praying for you doesn't help.

If however you have millions of people praying everyday for you, e.g. "God save the Queen", or "God keep the Pope alive and well"...

...Why aren't these people living far far FAR in excess of everyone else? Into their 200's maybe! If praying for people does anything, how comes whenever one of these important or well-known and loved people gets ill and people start praying for them, they don't survive all of the time?

If millions of people praying for someone to get better doesn't work, what good is it doing?

5) The big bang theory, where did all the gases come from, to make this big bang ?
6) How do you answer bible prophecy?
7) how come there are no monkey/people in the world today? becuase there are still monkeys and there are still humans yet there is no in between alive to day
8) saying this again coz its so relevent where are all the millions and millions of transitional skelitions?

Is a question even possible considering the depth of variety among Non-Christians? Is it just the divinity of Jesus?

am really feeling led to share the gospel with you guys- I dont know how many of you are born again christians, or what relegious backgrounds you have- but I wanted to take a moment to have you ask yourself if you think you are a "good person"--most of us would say "yes" but according to Gods standards ( his Law, the 10 Commandments) we all fall short of his glory, and we all have sinned. If you ask yourself if you have sinned against him- just follow through his commandments- For instance. 1. Have you ever told a lie? ( we all have!) that would make you a liar. 2. Have you ever stolen anything? ( the value of it is irrelevant) 3. Have you ever used Gods name in vain? ( as a cuss word?) 4. Have you ever committed aduletry? ( and Jesus says that whoever looks upon someone with lust has already committed adultry with him/her in his heart)

These are just a few of the commandments- I know I was definatley guilty of them. And if you are guilty according to Gods standards, do you think

Do you have an opposite on R&S? Perhaps an archenemy?

Not necessarily someone you don't like (lets try to be nice here), but someone you think is like your polar opposite?

Ya'll say you dont believe the Bible becuase you think the miracles mentioned are physically impossible, like walking on water, raising the dead&Noah's flood ect;&that you think the Bible has nothing factual in it

But

When We(Christians) point out things in the Bible that do have real world facts and possibilities in them;you say you dont believe it cuase you think everthing God does must be suppernatural&have no real world possibilities.

Sounds kinda like ya'll contridict yourselves, which is it?You dont believe cuase it contains supposedly impossible things?Or you dont believe cuase the Bibles not suppose to have anything grounded i reality and God is suppose to do everything suppernaturally?Or maybe just cuase your hearts arnt in it and refuse to believe it no matter what?

I'm listening to a program on Israel this morning, and they have quite the diverse mix living there.

Obvious, it's a newer Jewish nation. But all three major faiths have major influence there.

What do some of the Muslims on this board think of this interesting and politically flammable region?

Thanks tons and God Bless each and every one of you!

"You mean, I cried all these tears, and endured all this pain just to become nothing?"--- A man's conversation with death.

"If death was really a place of no pain, no worries, no feeling, and nothingness, we'd all be commiting suicide one by one." --Novelist

"Death is such a jerk. Men work hard to achieve material things and in a blink of an eye, death takes it all away. Death is such a jerk!!!!"---Poet

"You don't really believe you will disappear. Do you?"---Philosopher

***I'm not here to try to sell you on my beliefs. My beliefs don't need advertisement. The truth sells itself. It's illogical, ignorant, and foolish to think you don't exist after your body dies. I cannot fahtom nothingness. I will always be here, if it be in body or spirit. The truth is you all will be here too. I can't make you stop thinking foolishly about life and squandering it on harmful sins. I can tell you this, though. The truth will set you free from a world of hurt. Accept it or leave it.
