am really feeling led to share the gospel with you guys- I dont know how many of you are born again christians, or what relegious backgrounds you have- but I wanted to take a moment to have you ask yourself if you think you are a "good person"--most of us would say "yes" but according to Gods standards ( his Law, the 10 Commandments) we all fall short of his glory, and we all have sinned. If you ask yourself if you have sinned against him- just follow through his commandments- For instance. 1. Have you ever told a lie? ( we all have!) that would make you a liar. 2. Have you ever stolen anything? ( the value of it is irrelevant) 3. Have you ever used Gods name in vain? ( as a cuss word?) 4. Have you ever committed aduletry? ( and Jesus says that whoever looks upon someone with lust has already committed adultry with him/her in his heart)

These are just a few of the commandments- I know I was definatley guilty of them. And if you are guilty according to Gods standards, do you think

you would be innocent or guilty on judgement day? Guilty! That means you would either go to Heaven or Hell- and God does not allow sin into heaven- so hell would be the alternative.

NOW please dont think I am here to condemn you- I am just speaking what the bible says! God did do something for you so you wouldnt have to go to hell- He sent his son Jesus Christ to die FOR your sin! ON the cross, and 3 days later he rose again! And he did this willingly- and when you not only CONFESS your sin but repent of it! Turn away from it and put your trust in HIM, you will have eternal life with him in Heaven. This is wonderful news! God loves you so much that he sent his OWN son to die for your sins, that if you believe in him, you will not perish but have eternal life! ( John 3:16) Romans 6:23 also says "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of salvation in Christ Jesus is eternal life!" ---Its not about "being Good" nobody is good! As Romans 3:10 says.

I am thankful to know the Lord has given me eternal life in him, and that he has saved me! That he has opened my eyes to his truth! And the truth is very simple... Christ died for us so that we could be set free. To become a born again christian you put your faith in Christ, confess and repent of your sin, read your bible and live your life for Christ! I pray the Holy Spirit will convict you and open your eyes to the truth of His word. There is nothing more important than our eternal salvation- for this life is temporary- nothing compares to the goodness of God! John 3:3 says "Unless one is born again, he cannot enter the kingdom of heaven" --born again is being born of the Spirit of God- being washed clean from our sin- believing on the cross of what Jesus did. He will change you and give you a clean heart, if you truly believe and repent- He will give you new desires and a heart for Him! I cannot express enough of his great and wonderful love, and I would be lost without Him!

I am a born-again believer. No, I do not think I am a good person. It is because of Christ that I am considered worthy of entering Heaven. I have simply placed my faith in Christ, and left it up to Him to guide my steps. Keep up the good work. Your heavenly reward is rather great. :)

When are seemingly intelligent people (not the asker of this question....good thing horrible spelling is not a sin! You spelled religion wrong for Christ's sake) going to stop believing in fairy tales?? It kills me when I come across somebody who is well spoken, has a ton of common sense and even a healthy respect for science, and then they talk about how they are going to go to church on Sunday. I don't claim to know how the universe really originated, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't made by a big giant bearded guy in sandals. Religious people should stop being so retarded. As far as the "born again" thing goes, I am actually kind of jealous. Presumably, I can do anything I want for most of my adult life (rape, rob, pillage, copy DVD's, record a baseball game without the express written consent of MLB, and covet my neighbors big fat ugly wife), but as long as I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal savior, I will be accepted into Heaven. I think my Atheist life-style is more productive to society because I believe my actions have immediate consequences and if I do something really bad, that I stand the chance of never being forgiven by anybody, so I make positive choices in my life. If I was a Christian, I would go out and have some serious, evil and dirty fun, knowing that I could just hit the big red RESET button towards the end of my life.

Boy sounds like you should join the priest hood with that sermon, you've really been sucked in .
It's like this I love my family and would do anything for them and my Friends. I am not a bigot or racist and do not look down upon those because of their religion or lack there of. I work hard and for the most part treat others with respect and kindness.Yea I've tossed around the occasional God Damn and stole some oranges from a neighbors tree when I was a kid.So If God cant get past those little imperfections that make me who I am on this planet he supposedly created without me having to worship him and his forsaken son my every waking moment and have to feel guilt if i even slightly break the rules than I don't need his heaven. My peace and everlasting happiness will come when they throw the dirt upon my grave and I die Knowing I lead a good life and was the best person I could be.

By the Bible's standards, I'm not a good person. But if we're going to be realistic, I am. Half of what the Bible says is good is giving respect to God and following that belief.

And you should know that you cannot avoid your internal thoughts. It's your actions that really make a difference.

Actually, that's another thing that bugged me about God. I mean, hey, I'm not a disbeliever, I believe that God exists, but his ways... are what I'm questioning. Which, in itself, makes me a sinner. Since I'm basically blaspheming the name of God.
But let me explain. Would I really want to worship a God who SACRIFICED his INNOCENT son to let us off the hook? I mean, sure, Jesus was all for it, being uber-good and all, but... did GOD (who's so all-powerful and could have saved us if he wanted to and forgiven us from our sins without having to sacrifice his son in the first place- if he's all powerful, of course) really have to do that? I wouldn't think so. And personally, I don't believe in the sacrificing of others, who did nothing wrong in the first place, to wash away our sins. That in itself, to me, is immoral.

But I've said it before, I'm not as good as I could be, and I believe everyone is like that. We're not perfect (hence NOT God) and God knows that. So what does he expect? That's not to say 'sin away'. I try my best, and I try to learn from my mistakes, but I know I'm not going to be anywhere near perfect in the eyes of God, and for me to believe in someone that will condemn me for it, is unfathomable to me.

Everybody lies at least a couple of times in their lives. It doesn't mean they should buy into your guilt-trip sky daddy cult.

See, most of that 10 commandments stuff is pretty common sense. The idols and gods before me stuff is bunk, but the rest any sane rational human being could come up with.

I don't need sky daddy to tell me I should not kill.

And the rest? to me your gods is as real as Zeus, Ra, Odin, Allah, Zoltar, you name it.

I think i am a better person than your god who sits up there on his throne with all the "power" in the world the gift to do anything and yet he watches little children starve and get raped and beaten. He also watches all the sons, boyfriends, fathers, mothers, daughters, and so-on get killed over in the middle-east in "gods" name. He also killed his son what father would give his own sons life over his own. So listen here I do think I am a good person I try to do a lot for people in need, and I domore for them then the person you say Judges me.

I'm a reasonably decent person, much better than I used to be, I think.

It's much easier, I have found, to be a decent person if I'm not concerned with where I stand in relation to God, but focus instead upon how I can be of help to my fellow humans.

The good that I do in my life is greater in amount and meaning than the bad. This makes me a good person.

Maybe a simplistic way to look at it, but it works for me.

When I reverted to Islam all my previous sins were forgiven. Yes I am a good person and I am a good devout Muslim who loves and fears ALLAH and Jahannam with all my soul.
