Who is right when one religion worships a blue elephant? when one worships many gods that control the earth and nature? when one does not focus on a real being, but on a spiritual feeling? when one claims there is only one god and that he is great and that he wears a white robe and has a beard and nifty sandals? and what about the poor folks who lived in unknown villages by themselves in valleys and mountains in secluded countries? I'm sure they didn't get Fedex'd a copy of the bible. So who is credible?

All things dull and ug-ly,
All creatures, short and squat,
All things rude and na-sty,
The Lord God made the lot.

Each little snake that poisons,
Each little wasp that stings,
He made their prudish venom,
He made their horrid wings.

All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all.

Each nasty little hornet,
Each beastly little squid,
Who made the spiky urchin?
Who made the sharks? He did!

All things scant and ulcerous,
All pox both great and small,
Putrid, foul and gangrenous,
The Lord God made them all.

Amen.

ive read the quran and its actually awonderful book..its words are beuatiful and the way it is supposed to be read is mesmerizing the why do so many people talk trash about it and take out word from a part to make it sound bad?

God does no forbid you to treat kindly and act equitably toward those who neither fought you in the matter of religion nor driven you out of your home. Indeed, God loves the just. (Quran 60:8)

2:256 There is no compulsion in religion, for the right way is clearly from the wrong way. Whoever therefore rejects the forces of evil and believes in God, he has taken hold of a support most unfailing, which shall never give way, for God is All Hearing and Knowing.

17:53, 54 And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner (unto those who do not share their beliefs). Verily, Satan is always ready to stir up discord between men; for verily; Satan is mans foe .... Hence, We have not sent you (Unto men O Prophet) with power to detrminthere faith

I have to ask even though this may seem offensive.

People complain that Christians are closed minded, but at the same time, these same people refuse to allow Creationism to be taught as a possible theory. If we are trying to teach students critical thinking skills, why not teach any theories that are widely considered as possible theories and then allow the students to decide for themselves.

After all, isn't that what you would want a person to do about choosing a religion?

Here's my point of this question - I see quite often that Christians are considered on this board as closed minded, but here is an example where we want more theories taught. Why should we keep this theory out of the hands of students. After all, evolution is only a theory as well (no one was actually there to prove evolution, but according to creation theory, there was someone there to prove it existed).

Do you think the laws in the USA on Moral Conduct should change to meet the values of all religions if it does not hurt another human being?

What about Polygamists? Why is it so many in Government and the 3 Monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam)condemn Homosexual or Polygamy Marraige? doesn't that come from thier religious values? Don't you think if the Holy Bible never mentioned things like Adultery, Homosexuality, Incest, Polygamy they would be legal acts or codes of conduct in the USA today?

What made those Acts illegal if it wasn't for the Bible?

Arent the other planets in our solar system filled with life like this planet is? I suppose you can use the excuse that they are too hot or too cold or lack atmosphere....but if life is inveitable, wouldnt life find a way to form on these planets as well? Life suited only for those planets, and that couldnt exist on ours? Arent the other planets in our solar system the same age as ours and thefore had the same amount of time for life to form? Or, do you think that our planet is the only one in our soalr system that got lucky enough?

Most Christians that I met have a sense of superiority and arrogance, which I feel is the essence of the reason why many individuals do not like Christians. I was once involved in church, "walking Christian" as they call it, but then soon enough, I realized that church is just an institution just like everything else, you got politics (even more than other groups), populars vs. non-popular social groups, back stabbing self serving people, and off course some genuine nice folks as well. All these behaviors that were labeled by Christians as "sin" were committed by members of the church (e.g. a Bible study leader getting someone pregnant, Bible study leader stealing someone's girlfriend, asking for mission money and going to mission trip in hopes of hooking up with someone). When I raised these questions, a continous theme emerged "Christians are not perfect". This felt like an automatic disclaimer rather than a genuine wish to change. So for Christians out there, what's up with that?

trying to take over the schools by not allowing Christian beliefs in school? Isn't that kind of hypocritical since they're complaining that we're trying to take out their beliefs from the schools. I mean if we can't teach facts then why should we teach something that can't be proven?

I guess my question here is why is it okay for Christians to complain about Atheist trying to take religion out of school but it's okay for Christians to want to leave their beliefs in the school.

Some lost, empty soul wrote a question about using the bible as toilet paper. Here is our "councilman's" response;

"Now that is just wrong...."

"That would leave ink lines in your underwear that would look like skidmarks and people might get the wrong idea"

I already know you muslums and atheists are high fiving and hugging each other right now, with tears of joy in your eyes. One group supports the taliban, and the other fawns over Britney Spears, so your lack of tact is not surprising.

But Christians, I just want you to know what he really thinks of us. He obviously hates our belief system, and everything we stand for.
