She is a bad teacher in my opinion. She teaches:

She believes in "Receipting" ....Because of your good works in exchange, God gives you a receipt. And when you are in need of something in your life like a house, car, etc. you can go to God in prayer and present him with your "receipt"!!
Basically, when you do something for God, then God now owes you!!!!
I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say "Bad Teacher".
Your thoughts????

Christians, how do you answer when people blame God for things like hurricane Katrina, the Indonesian tsunami, and other destructive acts of nature? I'm new to Christianity, so I'm not sure what to say when I hear people say "How could God let (blank) happen?" as though God could/should have prevented it.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Is that better zer0 c00l?

Just so you know - some of us christians appreciate you atheists being in here... you keep it fun/interesting. We'd kill ourselves otherwise with our stupid doctrinal differences.

Just a random thought I had, since Sundays are designated Church days, after all.

According to Revelations, Satan sinned in heaven. Which means he must have had Free Will to do so.

Some angels betrayed God in Heaven. Which could only have been done with Free Will.

When I ask questions about why bad things happen, why God allows bad things to happen, almost every Christian starts to tell me that's because of our Free Will. Yet heaven seems to be a 'perfect place' where we also will have Free Will, but there won't be any badness there.

I can't find the logic in this. Anybody care to explain?

6 1/2 year old Justin looked at me after the NASCAR race we watched the end of on TV, after an ice cream served up by Chris, after eating a dinner, after washing the truck, after spending 2 hours at Fort Foster all over the place on foot, after visiting with his mom and his baby sister, Sophia.......and he said to me, "Grandpa, guess what?" So I made something up, can't quite remember right now. It was silly or something. But after I said it .....he said, "No ...no...!" "Really, Guess what?" So I said to him, "Well I don't know, what?".

"I am Zen!", he said. So I was beside myself and I asked him, "You are what?" Then he said to me, "I am Zen!". So I said to him, "What is Zen?". He said back to me, "Nevermind Grandpa." What is this little big mind trying to tell me?

I have to write a speech on a notable person and I picked Pope John Paul II, I'm having problems writing my opening paragraph, I'm supposed to start with a good catchy opener but I can't think of anything that would catch my audiences attention good.. I was thinking maybe a quote from pope john Paul II, does anyone have any other ideas or maybe know a quote I could use from him or about him

Love God = love people.

In real life, is the above equation correct? I know in biblical theory there is a difference. In real life, if a person loves people (true love), in another word, if he is a highly moral person, but he is not a Christian, let's say he is a Confucian, Buddhist, Muslim, or a atheist, can he have eternal life after death ? My question actually is : is there only one way of salvation, or several ways ? I am not interested in theoretical debate here. Various religions have been debating on this issue for hundreds of years. I ask this question here because I myself want to go to heaven after I die. Frankly speaking, (perhaps you won't believe it) I have read dozens of books about all the religions mentioned above. The more I read, the more I believe they are similar in nature. They are all about spiritual life and the central concept of all the religions is the same – love.

For the R&S drinking game: If a cut and paste is more than 2 paragraphs, you get to take a drink for each additional paragraph.

Why do you use Xtians instead of Christians? If you don't have any respect of Christ you don't have no respect of the Savior Jesus. I am offended by this saying and stop mocking Christians.

Yes yea, I know I know, all of us catholics are the whores of bablyon and we're all going to hell come the rapture.

But for those of us who believe in things like evolution, and dinosaurs, which country makes the best catholics?!

Vatican city isn't *really* a country, it's tiny, but I'm gonna vote for Ireland.

That when someone posts in the R&S who isn't Christian, they immediately get at least 3 negative votes? I've also seen that any really uber-Christians tend to get downvoted, but it's worse for the non-Christians. Don't believe me? Check out the "Are you Christian? I need 100 answers plz!!!" thread farther down.

No one is happy all of the time, but some people feel as if they can never find happiness. Some people feel as if their entire life is devoted to nothing but pain and hurt and loneliness. Every day is a struggle, and every breath a fight for survival. These people have a deep understanding of the word Depression.
