Church tonight was awesome! We sang praise songs for 1 1/2 hours and got to select old hymns as well to sing. We were dancing and praising God. It just felt so good! And our band was really tight.

What is your favorite hymn or contemporary chorus?

But if one existed would he not make his presence known -- not just to Bible people?

Then it would be pointless to deny it?

(As things stand now, we have to refer to an ancient anthology of half-crazed prophets' writings, magical stories, etc. and try to infer the existence of a god? It's kind of like hide-and-seek with an imaginary person. Who's fooling whom?)

Well it all happened one lonely evening . I was at home with my pizza and a few stellas. The door bell rang. I thought 'who could it be at this hour'. So I answered the door and to my amazment it was God in all his glory. I was dumbstruck and invited he/she/it in . We had a few beers together and after a while I became some what turned on. I then went away and slipped into something more comfortable. I returned in an all rubber gimp suit and said " lets do it oh mighty ruler you" God declined but still ate a bit of pizza ...why did he/she /it reject me???

Bible rates health right near the top of the list in importance. Man's mind, spiritual nature, and body are all interrelated and interdependent. What affects one affects the other. If our bodies are misused, our minds and spiritual natures cannot become what God ordained they should.

But yet Christian eat unclean food, drink whatever they want and do drugs when it saids "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17

It also saids "There shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth (or unclean)." Revelation 21:27. Thats in the future to come.

Why do Christian think its ok to eat unclean food, drink alcholo, and do drugs when its not healthy and it said not to in the bible.

In the choice between "heaven" and "hell", Christians always tell me I have a choice. God gives me the chance to choose.

God's "choice" to us is to accept, without question, an absurdly unrealistic fairy-tale in which the results of repeatable experiments are false. Or to accept instead a body of overwhelming empirical evidence, from independent researchers from every nation on earth and including the brightest minds our species has yet produced.

Believe what is in front of your face, or believe what is implausible beyond your wildest imagining. Believe what the smartest, best-trained and most well-respected scientists repeatedly tell you, or believe what a handful of ethically-questionable clerics and their inbred, uneducated followers persistently cling to.

God has a funny way of giving me a choice, really. So, how do I choose "heaven" when my brain tells me it's false?

As a Christian (Catholic) who has shared a little in the Divinity of Christ through Grace and Virtue, I find it hard to explain these terms to non-believers who say that they "can't feel" God. Christian life is not an emotion that comes and goes, it is more than that. It is an eternal joy that is always there.

The thing about Christ is that you can't know him until you meet him. (Divine Relationship).

Grace and Virtue and not just words that we say, our aim is to live it in union with Christ.

So, How do we convince non-believers to give God a chance to come in.

Like God said: "I stand at the door of your heart knocking, if you hear me and open the door I will come in and dine with you" Rev 3:20

If you refer the undersigned to "wiki" pedia, or a dictionary, please prove that these sources are correct. Respectfully I respect a consensus among all atheists reg$arding the answer to this question (after all, all atheists presumably adhere - for the same reasons - to the alleged logical fallacy regarding "proof" of a "negative".)

Corollary question: Can words ever be ambiguous? i.e. "proof", "negative"... In law: proof in civil case is different than proof criminal case... And in law, scientists are quite often challenged (read the DAUBERT line of cases.)

A Believer (B) is trying to save Someone (S):

S-how do I know there's a God, heaven, Jesus, etc.
B-the Bible tells us so.
S-the Bible says a lot of things. Why should I believe the Bible?
B-the Bible says that the Bible was inspired by God, IS the word of God, and that every word is true. (quotes scripture to prove point.)
S-so the Bible says that the Bible is true?
B-correct, and it also says that belief in...is the only way to get to heaven. (quotes more scripture)
S-so, I can't get to heaven unless I believe in what the Bible says, and the Bible is 'fact' because it says it was basically written by God, and it also says that God is never wrong...and that proves that it is true?
B-yes, the Bible is very clear about this.
S-and if I don't believe?
B-you go to hell. The Bible is very clear about that too.

Doesn't anyone see the problem with this? This double-think works on 4 year olds, but I'd like to hear from grown-up believers. Why do you take this at face value?

Yes, I'm joking as half the questions like this have been in the past 30 minutes....

But honestly, even among Xtians, you'll never find 2 who agree about every single fine point of their religion. I wish more people would see this forum as a chance to foster understanding and tolerance...
