"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matt. 6:19-21

What does this mean, if it does not indicate that saving money is non-Christian?

There are less than 350,000 Quaker’s in the world today; is our religion doomed to fade away? I would like to believe that it would never happen, but Quaker’s have never been that aggressive in converting people. Besides most people have never heard of Quakers, which is sad considering how influential Quakers have been in the U.S.

(Quakers are not to be confused with the Amish; we use technology and have almost nothing to do with oats. )

I served Chateaubriand, onion potatoes, all kinds of goodies and this was the smash hit, believe it or not. Enjoy!

Cauliflower Gratin
1 (3-pound) head cauliflower, cut into large florets
Kosher salt
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, divided
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups hot milk
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup freshly grated Gruyere, divided
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
1/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
Cook the cauliflower florets in a large pot of boiling salted water for 5 to 6 minutes, until tender but still firm. Drain.
Meanwhile, melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Add the flour, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes. Pour the hot milk into the butter-flour mixture and stir until it comes to a boil. Boil, whisking constantly, for 1 minute, or until thickened. Off the heat, add 1 teaspoon of salt, the pepper, nutmeg, 1/2 cup of the Gruyere, and the Parmesan.
Pour 1/3 of the sauce on the bottom of an 8 by 11 by 2-inch baking dish. Place the drained cauliflower on top and then spread the rest of the sauce evenly on top. Combine the bread crumbs with the remaining 1/4 cup of Gruyere and sprinkle on top. Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle over the gratin. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until the top is browned. Serve hot or at room temperature.

Anything that holds knowledge - the brain, a computer, a book, or whatever - has to be made of parts which encode or represent that knowledge. In the case of a brain it is interconnected neurons, for a computer it is binary switches and in a book it is ink on paper.

So a god, if such a thing existed, would have to be made of something - it would have to have parts, like a brain or a computer or a book. What are those parts? Where did they come from (anything made of parts obviously cannot be self-existent)? Who or what put them together, and how?

Seems they are so quick to pass judgement and damn people to hell. I guess I didn't realize it was their job to do so. I think Jesus cries a lot for them.

Why didn't God give the rest of the people a chance to pick or not to pick the fruit of knowledge of good and evil?

Did they politely allow you to present the contradictions you felt were in their teachings, or did they politely leave when it was clear you were prepared to support your thoughts entirely with scripture? Also, what contradictions did you attempt to discuss?

Right i seem to be able to do something which scares me, if i pray to take someones pain away god does it, which is great but he gives it to me, so for example last year a friend fell off a ladder, and bruised his back i prayed that his pain would dissapear the next day he was walking around as fit as a fiddle, but i couldnt get out of bed at all, my back was in constant pain, it works with silly things like headaches and flu, or just any pains and stuff. Even worry last year a friend had an exam and i prayed that she wouldnt worry or get stressed over it the night before i worried so much and i hadnt a clue what for i was nervouse and couldnt sleep no idea why, turns out her exam was the next day and she got the best nights sleep ever. What is this? Its not healing! But then in a way i suppose it is, i dont understand it much, id love other christians thought on it.

Seeing how many Pagans are out there and what kind of Paganism they practice if any specific type (such as Wicca, or any specific set of deities). Drop a line if you love the Earth, or if you're a hater you can try to force Jesus on to me (I'm a Christian Pagan I guess so it wouldn't be too hard).

This is a public board, so I'm sure a variety of people will respond. However, I'm interested in hearing from people who have watched the entire video, and taken the time to actually RESEARCH the references provided, and not just assume what was stated is true or false?

There is a brief 10 minute clip on youtube entitled: Jehovah's Witnesses: History of Shame, but the video is much longer.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=qqWyJg0bmlc

Hopefully this question will remain, as the Jehovah Witnesses on here usually report any question or answer which does not support their beliefs.

I really like classical music and I play it all the time, but she likes cowboy music. She is saved, whereas I am not; cause I found out the Bible god doesn't exist.

Question: If church people like cowboy music, is that the genre they will have in Heaven?

Or is this just some kind of rhetorical question?

In my family and friends, with my family we have all spread apart

barely anyone in my family is really into God and most of the bibles and bible studies books have ended in my possesion, my friends and those who surround me seem to all listen and follow me I am only 18 yet friends older then me just follow me in things that I do, it seems no matter who they are they are like sheep like Jesus explained he is the Shepard and all humans are his sheep. in a way i kind of feel like this is true, Like God is using me as a tool to get people to him, I have prayed much recently I have asked God to do what is neccsary to bring me to him, I lost most things I cared about, then it motivated me to drink much because of the anger i felt,it was kind of like the story of Job, I also asked God tobring all purposes that I am here to do tome soon so i may do what i must to serve him in his house is it concidence that I am to do as influencial speech to lots of youth meaning on a stage speaking to lots

what are your 'boundaries' to 'how far' you will go with the opposite sex outside of wedlock?

My gf and I, who are both Christians, were talking about it and I was just wondering what other Christians, married and not married, think?

By the way, I am not being pervy, I am a teenager who wants to wait for sex and also does not want to get too physical with my gf. i am wondering bcos it doesn't explicity say in the bible what is right and wrong, really it is your own judgement.

Any (serious) answers would be gratefully received
