Did they politely allow you to present the contradictions you felt were in their teachings, or did they politely leave when it was clear you were prepared to support your thoughts entirely with scripture? Also, what contradictions did you attempt to discuss?

I haven't had an mormons around lately but plenty of JWs. I like to ask sort of confused about what things mean and ask lots of quesitons until I draw them in to contradicting themselves. The best was one who whent on with a passion answering all my quesions until I had drawn her around to a point where the next question called for an answer directly the opposite of one a few minutes before. She had it half out when she stopped and said " oh, you're good." Then she left without another word.

I've had a few get upset. None of them have ever been willing to have a civilized discussion. Most of them tend to clam up and leave once they realize I can't be manipulated.

Not just mormons, I get all walks of life trying to sell their crap around here. Baptists came this morning. They usually don't hold up too well.

I've never had them come to my door - because I believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saint's Teachings. I believe that it is true - and that what we belief really did happen, its what I believe. I think that sometimes even though they may not seem quite polite- they the missionaries is because they may be nervous or just really want you to have the happiness that they have. So even if I wasn't part of this religion - I would say it can't hurt to let them in and think about it for yourself, pray about.

I questioned the Baptists about spontaneous salvation, and asked them how come Jesus said he would come in the clouds of glory and judge every man according to his works, and I saw the Baptists squirm, and I laughed in my sleeve.

And then they started in with their lame excuses.

As for the Mormons, they didn't come to our door.
(If truth be told, The Baptists didn't either; but I made a point of asking them such questions, cause they think they got such better ideas than Jesus... They won't even quote Jesus, for fear of contradicting their own doctrines.)

we ended up talking for several hours. They kept on coming back and trying to debate me.

I more or less showed them the flaws in prophecies by Joseph Smith in the Doctrines and Covenants and they could not answer them.

if they did come to my door, i wouldn't be rude to them- although i don't believe anyone should go door to door preaching their religion they're just doing what they think is right. it can't be easy to go around getting your beliefs mocked and thrown in your face. i would just politely thank them for sharing their opinion and send them on their way.
