You might include this beautiful story about a priest in Rome who asked the pope to pray for a fellow priest who had left the priesthood, later despaired and became a homeless vagrant there in Rome. John Paul II had the priest arrange a meeting. When the former priest showed up at the Vatican in his rags, the Holy Father asked him to hear his confession. This so overwhelmed the former priest that he got his act together and returned to the priesthood.

Try talking about an interesting or weird thing that John Paul did that most people do not know about, and then relate it back to the overall point of the speech.

you may want to say Noted as Our Most Holy Lord, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Jesus Christ, Successor of Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, Supreme Pontiff of the Universal Church, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman Province, Sovereign of the City State of the Vatican, Servant of the Servants of God Pope John Paul II.
That may help.

Since he was the first Polish Pope - I'd use this one:

"I have a sweet tooth for song and music. This is my Polish sin. " JPII
