He's just an innocent man who's life was blown out of proportion and made into a god that billions of people now worship, I think he would be appalled. I think if he were here today he would condemn the Christian's principles!

Either that or he's just a made up character to try and destroy the Jews.

And if not atheists, then what else?

I am sincerely not trying to provoke any contraversy(though I know few will beg to differ). I'm just trying to get honest answers from honest individuals.

In my ladies' group at church, we were talking about this today:

"Do you think God would vote for Hillary Clinton?"

I think it depends on who was running against her, personally. I know she's the Democrat running, but there haven't been many Rebuplicans say they are running yet.

I think God would vote for Guleani if he runs because he was a great leader during September 11th attacks on our capital. When the planes hit New York, he was the one who stood up and lead the whole country through the greeving process.

I think God would vote for Newd Gingrich too. He wrote a book about putting God back in America a while ago and it was very inspirtational and uplifting. I would really like to see him win.

Who do you think God will vote for in 2008?

it seems to me that a lot of christians have forgotten, or possibly have disregarded, christ's most beautiful lesson.. his lesson that even a so-called non-believer can take away from his book, which is the way one treats others, especially those considered to be 'lost'.

i think the most wonderful message jesus had for those around him, and us,(including me, someone that is not a so-called non-believer) is his message about how to respect and treat others.. yet, i see christians voting for the death penalty.. i see christians building extremely extragavant places of worship.. and i see them driving to the polling places and their churches in cars that are worth more than most people's homes on this planet

what about any of this is christ-like? does christ accept this from people? where do christians find a reason for such actions in the bible?

again, if you read my previous question, i do not mean this as an attack on one's belief.. it is simply a question i have had

yep, 3 heavens.

"Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven" 2 Kings 2:11

Jesus said "no one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man"? John 3:13

I know some Christians believe there are 3 heavens, but Jesus did not rule out any heaven when he made his statement.

As an Atheist you can neither have religion or spirituality. To claim either would make you other than Atheist.

This is something I have seen both when I was a Christian and as a non-Christian. Assumptions about a person's faith and actual background.

I asked a question about where the idea of Christians only be able to understand the bible came from. The assumptions:

A person told me this and cost me my faith

That I only read the bible to disprove it

I was never in a relationship with Jesus any way

I pick and choose what I want to believe in

I must have read the JW bible (I have never in my life read this)

When I lost my faith, it wasn't because I was trying. I read the bible and really studied it, asking for God's help so that I could understand my faith. The last thing I expected to do was lose it.

I also had a close and personal relationship with Jesus.

So why does it seem impossible to just answer a question without assuming about the asker? What is the reason for this? Why must my personal background be such a intergal part of answering a neutral question

I know the Bible says that we should not marry someone of a different race. For example, a white man shouldn't marry a black woman. A French woman shouldn't marry a German man, and so on and so forth.

My ladies' group at church was talking about this topic at this morning's brunch. The oldest lady in our group said that this can lead to a higher chance of birth defects or diseases.

Does anyone know of any statistics or medical research that has been done to validate this? Do you have any real-life scenarios where you know this has occurred?

(Serious answers only, please)
