As an Atheist you can neither have religion or spirituality. To claim either would make you other than Atheist.

Why would we post in mythology when we have a proper category called "religion & spirituality" No mention of Atheism there that I saw.

According to Webster, atheism is: a disbelief in the existence of deity or the doctrine that there is no deity.

Logically speaking, where else would the antithesis to theism belong?

Ask Yahoo to create another category if you really think it's appropriate.

Yes, its in the right section. Just because the religious don't like Atheists posting here doesn't mean they have to leave. Atheists believe in no god, they don't "have no spirituality". There's more to spirituality than a god. And religion and spirituality aren't the same thing, only related.

I've asked this question a few times. And I've also asked if atheism is a religion. Here's the link.

14 out of 15 answers were emphatic no, athists do not have a religion. And many of the answerers who said that were atheists themselves. One person thought it might be because they feel the need to "spread the word" like religious people do about what they believe.

I don't mind the atheists that are on this site who respect others people's beliefs and are not insulting to others.

Hey, I just saw some people posting in the Royalty and Celebrity sections. Could you take care of that, because I know they are neither royal nor celebrities. Then we can all get back to how we are going to use this 2000 year old book written by iron age nomads to control other peoples lives.

Thanks.

Shouldn't religious posts actually be put under Myths? Especially since there is not actual evidence that Christianity, for example, is nothing more than a compilation of fictional stories.

Absolutely incorrect.

You need to review the definitions of "atheist," "religion" AND "spirituality". You do not seem to comprehend these terms.

BS!!
an atheist does not believe in a DEITY (look it up)
buddhist are atheists, are you saying they aren't a religion? or spiritual?
i'm very spiritual, but do not believe in a personified divinity, and an therefore atheist.

Wrong. Atheism is a spiritual belief - a belief that there is no god. They deny it, but it IS a spiritual belief... it is a belief, since we don't "know" whether god exists, and it IS spiritual, since it relates to matters of spirituality.

Where do you debate with religions? Where would you classify Atheism, in philosophy?

Why do Christians post messages in the gay/lesbian section condemning people?
-Why don't Christians do all of their posting in the mythology section?
