The scriptures refer to the three heavens:
1) the atmosphere in which the bird fly.
2) the space beyond where the planets and stars reside
3) the heaven beyond that which is the habitation of God
Genesis mentions "heavens" (plural) in 2:1.
Paul mentions heaven #3 in his Epistles:

That sounds fairly similar to a doctrine of my religion.
You got to think along the lines of - is God going to send the mostly good people (who maybe didn't get a couple things right) straight to hell? I don't think so, I think there will be a fair judgement, and a proper place for everyone.
