No. Lots of them are very smart. I don't agree with them. But the vast majority I have debated with have very well thought out positions (even if I think they're wrong). However I have found that many of them are unwilling to open their minds to opposing viewpoints, Of course that can be equally said about Christians, Republicans, Hindus, Mormons, Democrats, Astrologists, Scientists, Canadians, Green Party members, and every other group of humans on earth. Well, except maybe Agnostics who are characterized by their indecision in the matter of God :)

Hope this helps. Now be nice because you won't win any arguments with insults.

You know, you`re right. Having beliefs that are based on science and logic definately makes you stupid. You are the type of person who makes everyone with religious beliefs look like an idiot. They go with science and truth instead of religion and myth. I am not an athiest, but if you wanted to use a realistic point of veiw, they are much smarter than someone who puts complete faith in something with little or no proof. They are definately smarter than anyone who puts religion before science.

NOT at all Monica. There are a number of them that are quite intelligent. They do not believe in GOD. That has nothing whatsoever to do with their general intelligence one way or the other. I am sorry that you feel this way. I have had several GREAT CONVERSATIONS with agnostics and atheists on this site and as a result of this site. I am a devout Christian and I do not feel that all Christians are necessarily intelligent or not so either. Are you living a Truly Christian Life? Are you certain of your salvation should that time come NOW? Please be cautious about throwing stones. It is certainly a dangerous thing to do. Read, study, and obey HIS WORD. Have a great day.

The ones I have met are for the most part highly intelligent and well read people. Yes, I have met a few who probably weren't the brightest stars in the sky, but does that really matter?

Does intelligence really factor into a belief system?

I believe the majority of self proclaimed atheist aren"t truly
atheist. How many do you think would not cry out fot God to save them if they were in extreme danger, such as a plane high-
jacking, or a robber with a gun to their or a loved ones head, or a kidnapper, or a child or love one having a critical operation,or trapped in a fire?? I think a lot of folks are only giving lip service to things they truly don't believe in deep down!!

It's true.

I have been known to drive under 80 in the fast lane. I apologize.

Otherwise, I'd stack the dumbest atheist here against you any day. Their IQ most likely still cracks the 130 mark.

There is a phenomenon that occured when people watched old Western movies. Because the rotation of the wagon wheels on screen was out of sync with the frame rate, it would often appear that the wheels were turning backward when in fact they were moving forward faster than the camera could record the action.

A similar phenomenon may occur when people of faith encounter atheists and agnostics.

How can you say that? How can you stereotype a group of people like that? Don't you see that as the insult it is?

Peachiepie: I have been in two life-or-death situations myself and one with my daughter and NEVER ONCE did I pray or call out to god. I don't believe there is a god so why would I call out to something that doesn't exist for me?

yes I'm afraid we're lowly creatures. we cannot defy the laws of nature and we are restricted by the rules of grammar and spelling unlike most theists. the fact that a higher percentage of atheists have academic qualifications than theists is, of course, totally irrelevant because it is a verifiable fact and we all know that doesn't count.

No, they're not slow. That's a rude thing to say.

What I have found about them is that at this site, they claim that anyone with faith is slow. Leave the rude cracks to them, though.

P.S. She didn't say she's Christian, but look how many assumed. Thanks for proving my point, guys.
