* With the single exception of divorce for infidelity.

--------

Matthew 5:31-32, from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount:

"It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.' But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery."

A lot of christians have a view of God like he's just a human guy who has human emotions, is immortal and has supernatural powers. He's like all the x-men rolled into one guy. Popular depictions of him often show him having a white beard and a stern face. So is that how many christians see him? Like a Dad who lives in the clouds somewhere? Where does he live? Is it a different dimension? In a castle?

Are you philosophically an atheist but hesitate to identify yourself as such because of the negativity associated with atheism? What would you suggest that atheists do to alter the perception that we are scoffers and killjoys?

People who are evil (such as racists, child molesters, anti-Semites, homophobes, xenophobes, religious fundamentalists and similar scumbags) are a product of social circumstances or are they born that way? To me, it seems that it is impossible to be born evil. Do you agree?
