Even the devil can quote scripture...lol. Hell, I use it all the time to prove that A) I know more about Christianity than the so-called "Christians" do, and B) practically any conceivable position whatsoever on any issue is defensible with reference to some cherry-picked scriptural text, as is its contradictory. You simply read what you want to read into the bible. That's not to say that the original authors didn't intend certain specific meanings, at which biblical scholars can make informed guesses; but it IS to say that in common practice, the bible is basically a big ink blot test.

Which is why I CAN imagine that people are occasionally converted on the "strength" of this text or that. Not to mention the fact that the KJV is obviously masterful English, and it resonates with people.

I don't know anyone who has been converted by a post. Of the few people I know who converted to Christianity, they had been raised Christian and had left for a time. The Church gained most of its converts from other religions by using fear of Hell, and bribery of food and modernization (still using it now).

only God can convert people.
but, I have planted seeds that someday

Not as a far as I know. I do not try to convert. I am just planting seeds, but I do not know what kind of soil they are being planted in.

I don't post Scripture to convert someone. I cite a passage as support for whatever point that I'm making in a post.

The Bible does say in Isaiah 55:11, "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

So when we speak His Word, we know that it will accomplish whatever He wanted it to.

We don't convert people. All we can do is plant seeds that the Holy Spirit tends and brings to fruition.
