I didn't say you had to believe it. We just get alot of crap for us going door to door with missionaries. And yet every place we turn we are getting told we are wrong too.

Mormon-4 your right on I agree 100% with you. I was not a Mormon my entire life I have been a member for a year. I was a single mother " that's right a single mother: and everyone in the church accepted me as who I am. I have been to many churches and when I went to the "Mormon church I new that it was the right church. I will admit I was like most of you saying crap but instead of being judgmental you should fined out the facts first....once I found out the facts I couldn't believe it it all really maid since to me. what want to know is why everyone has something against Mormons when if you got to know a Mormon that would probably be the nicest person you met we are all willing to help anyone who needs our help whether they are Mormon or not.

I was LDS for nearly 10 years. I left I just couldn't believe the whole Joseph Smith thing or the book of Mormon anymore. It also didn't help that the people in my ward were cruel and always so quick to judge others when they're families weren't perfect. There have been a handful of LDS members that I've met that are genuine and the rest are just rude snobs. Everyone has their opinion on religion. I am now Pentecostal and people say a lot of untrue crap about them, and the baptist, catholics, Jehovah witnesses etc., I say whatever floats peoples boats just as long as they aren't trying to "save" me.

I think that for the uneducated you need to know that the LDS Church is not about Publicity. The Prophet, Gordon B. Hinkley has done multiple interviews with the national media- tow that I know for sure about are Mike Wallace on 60 min. and Larry King. He did quite a good job of explaing our beliefs. Also anybody who would like more information, can simply ask a member of the church- go to http://www.Mormon.Org - a site set up for people who wnat to know more about the church, or contact the missionaries. I know that I don't mind discussing my beliefs with anyone, as long as it is a calm civilized conversation. As long as you are not bashing my religion and you are genuinely interested in what I believe, even if you have no interest in joining, I will explain my beliefs to you.
One more point you people need to get your facts strsight. Mormons do NOT believe that Satan is begottenof the Lord, only Jesus. We do believe that we are all brothers and sisters and children of God. That is that our Spirits our children of God. Lucifer, Satan is our brother, he was cast out for his rebellion. The only Begotten son is Jesus Christ- He is the only one who is flesh and blood. Jesus is the Son of Mary, and Heavenly father, God IS his biological father. I hope that makes sense but that is the best way to explain it.

I have a sister that is Mormon and i love her dearly. Will she go to heaven. Yes I believe so but it all depends on her relationship with Jesus Christ. does she believe that he came to earth was made flesh and died for her sins that he rose again and is now at the right hand of the father. As I understand it Mormons believe this. I have heard some things about the re legion that are not to my liking, But I believe in the end, all that is important is how much you love, believe and walk after Christ. It is a personal relationship and no religion can give you.

The real reason: it's human nature to rag on others that look/think/believe/live differently than you do. It has been this way since one cave man bashed the other over the head because he had a more sloping forehead, a different animal skin loincloth and thought trees were holy instead of rocks.

I've been baptized for almost a year now, and my family gave and gives me a really hard time about it. I hear where you're coming from, I really don't understand why my parents have to tell me I don't believe in Christ when our church is called "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints". Yay for Mormons, Choose the Right!!!

After reading all these responses, I still can't get over how IGNORANT people are abut what Mormons believe, and that they seem to be quite happy not only being ignorant, but parading that ignorance in front of God and everyone.
Yes, we believe the Bible to be the word of God. We also believe that the Bible is not the ONLY word of God we have or will ever get.
NOTHING we believe is contrary to the Bible, only contrary to other people's interpretatoin of the Bible. We do believe that, as Paul said, we can be heirs of God and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. Does that mean we can become gods? Maybe. That we might become gods does not mean that our HEAVENLY FATHER is lowered to our level. It's like being a parent. When you become a parent, that does not mean your parents are no longer needed, loved, or that they are being displaced. Instead, their family is growing. LIKEWIse, as we are exalted as our HEAVENLY FATHEr is, HIS kingdom grows as well.
We do not believe that Satan is a "BEGotten" son of God, as Christ is. As Kia said, we are all SPIRIT CHILDREN of our HEAVENLY Father, but CHRIST is the only one who was EVER begotten n the flesh by Heavenly Father.
And Joseph SMith? What's wrong with him? He was not perfect, no prophet of God was ever perfect, only Jesus Christ was perfect.
We do not practice plural marriage at this time. We haven't since the turn of the 20th century. However, when the church did practice plural marriage, only about 3-5% of the men in the church had more than one wife, and most of those had only two, or at the most, three, wives. Large families like Brigham Youngs, were the exception rather than the rule.
We do not preach "foolishness of the cross". We don't use a lot of symbols in our church wrship services. The cross was one of the most inhumane forms of torture and death that man has ever conjured. But just because we don't hang them on every blank space in our buildings, des not mean we do not know, and accept, His sacrifice for our sins, ON THE CROSS!!!

Most Christians view Mormonism as sub-Christian because of their acceptance of the Book of Mormon as Scripture and many anti-Christ doctrines they have picked up as a result such as teaching that the cross is foolishness and that we are going to be like god someday. We view the teachings of Smith as a contradiction to Scripture, not an addition to it. There are extremely serious consequences to teachinga different Gospel than what Jesus gave us. Dis not be a slam on you, just the old fogies in yo posse that have decided long ago what they are gonna spit. (teach) Are you feelin it.....dawg?
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! -Galatians 1:8

Let me tell you why I dislike Mormons...
1. They converted my sis when she was UNDERAGE at 17 and she turned her nose up and hasn't wanted much to do with me since
2. They converted my dad and stepfamily, he puts mormonism before his non-mormon family, doesn't even want to go to his own grandkids birthdays if it conflicts with mormon extracurricular activity, ie church choir practice!!
3. Its a load of $@&*

The Mormon's do not share or educate "outsiders" regarding their faith. That leave things open for all kinds of questions. We hear little bits and pieces of things such as "what's with the underwear" and "they don't believe in Jesus", but we are not educated by the Mormon people about their faith. That's what the big deal is I guess.
