Of course, Jesus said it in his example of a Model prayer. But, Why do we consider God as our Father in Heaven? Does that really mean that he is like a parent to us?

I see frequent statements from Christians about how they are discriminated against, or persecuted, in our (western) society. I don't get it. It's a majority Christian nation. Your Churches, even the ones that make incredible profit, don't pay taxes. You are free to worship as you chose. You stuck a Fundamentalist nut job in the oval office, who in turn appointed other whackos onto federal courts. You've managed to change text books to reflect your faiths. You've managed to sneak public funding for religious schools, and called it charter programs and vouchers. You managed to get Government funding for religious charities, some of which are directly political...like Pat Robertson. WHAT DO YOU PEOPLE WANT?!?!?

What do you call discrimination? Is it discrimination when you don't get to stick your beliefs in the public arena like schools and court houses? Is it discrimination when someone debates Christian history? Is it discrimination to teach scientific fact in schools?

none good but one, that is, God:

would it be possible to "understand" the idea of god without humanizing it or would it all be too abstract and unaccessible?
Why is christian religion so "arranged" to human necessities?
Why is christian religion about people explaining god explaining people???
in studying religion i have come to see that the success of Christian religion was due to the personalization of god...Pagan gods were often unaccountable, their actions were not explained, they did what they did just because, no explanations they were the gods.
Conclusion: Christian religion was human designed to attract people.

Why do people refer to themselves as members of specific religious denominations or as atheists, etc? It really doesn't seem to be any great shakes.

The only people who impress me are "the seekers", the people who are ever searching for the truth and don't stop until they die. They keep reflecting while learning from new experiences until their minds are orbiting the universe and then they keep thinking and wondering and thinking in every way that they can. This also applies to spirituality.

Some of the greatest minds in history called themselves "truth seekers" and not any common label. They sought truth always but were slow to derive conclusions until they were ready.

Do you think of yourself as a truth seeker?

Is Christianity a cult? The definition of a cult is basiclly non-main stream beliefs that are considered taboo. So if Christianity didn't have as many followers, would it be called cult? Or could it be called a massive cult?

Sorry to pick on you Christians, go ahead and answer but don't bother quoting scriptures, ill give u a thumb down and skip to the next answer.

I do, as I read last night these christan people who were giving gideon bibles away to people on the street in America in I think Florida was arrested and taken to Jail. A bunch of elderly women last month were sharing Jesus on the streets somewhere in America and was arrested and thrown in Jail and are facing about 70 years. Me the other day was thrown out of my access with my daughter for bringing up Jesus, and was escorted out of the building by 2 security gards, and that is in Australia. You have to be carful these days, even on the t- shirts that you ware, as you never know now when you will be arrested. Soon you will not even be allowed to wear crosses and christians t- shirts. That will not stop me. Jesus made it clear that in that last days, which we are living in persecution will increase. Jesus said they persected him so they will persicute you, and Jesus said if the world hates you remember it hated me first. Christians we need to stand up for Jesus more.

Creationists love to attack evolutionary theory with broad generalizations, but here is a specific assertion and an invitation to refute the assertion. So far all I have is some lame tautology that humans aren't perfect and therefore God create imperfect humans.

Come on folks, I am making the assertion that this is experimental confirmation of evolution. You can't let an assertion like that stand, can you?

I think its wrong to kill people on purpose and then lie about it, and blame it on others. its hard to believe at first but this is the truth.
millions are in on the secret. even people on this page will do everything to deny it. so think for yourself.
