Creationists love to attack evolutionary theory with broad generalizations, but here is a specific assertion and an invitation to refute the assertion. So far all I have is some lame tautology that humans aren't perfect and therefore God create imperfect humans.
Come on folks, I am making the assertion that this is experimental confirmation of evolution. You can't let an assertion like that stand, can you?

Heaven's Messenger, if you have experimental confirmation of God's existence, I'd love to see it.

hillary - if the research is incorrect, please point out the flaw. If you can't then you are full of it.
help - why would a designer design primates with nearly identical broken biochemical pathways? Just pointing to God without explaining why God is the answer is a cop-out.

Anna, get some reading comprehension skills. I never said we are not perfect. A creationist said that.

So now I have a few examples of the most common response to this question. The old "I don't care about evidence, I have my belief" argument.
You know, that's fine by me if you want to believe a fairy tale. But if that is your out for this argument, you have no business talking about how evolution is 'just a theory' or is 'junk science' or is 'unproven'.

Ray W. I don't really care what the bible says. Look at the physical evidence. It is undeniable that we share a common ancestor with apes.

Matt - How ironic that you hold up science as a philosophical counter-argument to physical evidence for and experimental confirmation of evolution.
Also, your statement is wrong because culture and technology have both been observed in the 'animal' world.
PS Saying that you did not come from apes proves nothing and is just an emotional argument.

Tommiecat - chimps have a different culture than ants and ants have a different culture from dolphins which have a different culture from mirkats. So I don't really understand your argument.
What I am really looking for ois why the physical evidence presented should not be interepretted as experimental confirmaion of evolution.
So far all I have are a bunch of unfounded opinions.

THA -- how exactly is that a broad generalization? It is a specific assertion, that the vestigial genes for vitamin C synthesis in primates are experimental demonstration of evolution. Not only do all primates have them, but the simliraities of the pseudogenes exactly match the evolutionary branching of primates.
Nothing general about that at all. It is very specific and I seek refutation of it. Thanks.

Evolution Explained
by David A. Rizwan
Evolution. Most people have heard of it, but not too many believe that it is possible. However, most people that see it as false do not understand it. I will try to clarify the blurry points in the Modern Evolutionary Theory. Simply put, Evolution is the process through which animals change over time. However, this seems to sum the story up a little too much. Most people that do not believe in Evolution do not fully understand it. Those people believe that the theory says that humans came from monkeys. This is not true. Those people believe that if an animal evolves, there is no prerequisite to the present animal alive. This is not true either.
The Theory of Evolution simply explains how life changes over time. This isn’t a few weeks, years, or even centuries. In most cases, this takes millions of years to be complete. The whole evolution process begins with a mutation. A mutation is any animal that is different from the norm. For instance, an albino garter snake is a mutation. A lucistic alligator is a mutation. Anything that is not normal in a living creature’s DNA is a mutation. It is obvious that some mutations would be more beneficial than others. This is where “Survival of the Fittest” comes into play. For instance, a longer bill on a nectar-feeding bird is beneficial, as it allows the bird to gather nectar much easier. Other mutations, such as an albino snake in a dark green jungle, are actually malicious. It is obvious that this snake will not be able to camouflage from predators while it is still young, making it an easy meal. The snake will never survive to the age to reproduce. The animals that are best matched to their environment will survive more, thus reproduce more.
There are sometimes periods in which the environment changes, such as the Ice Age. During the period of time, most of the world became icy and snow covered. The animals with a gene to have longer hair would usually die of heat exhaustion in the previous era. But now their hair is able to keep heat in their body, allowing them to survive better than the non-haired ones. The without hair began to die out, leaving only the ones with hair. The species had just evolved. As the environment changes, those that are fit to the new environment survive and reproduce, those that aren’t, die off.
Sometimes animals are separated from other animals of their species, such as the Galapagos Islands. These animals have a closed gene pool away from the other animals, and they also live in a different terrain type. This means that two samples of a species can evolve differently. One sample of a bird species may develop a longer bill to allow for easier food gathering, while the other sample develops a shorter bill for more control over the bill, and the final sample of the bird species may remain unchanged. Eventually through these changes and others, the two birds will eventually be so different that they can no longer reproduce. Another new species now exists.
Many believe that there is no evidence to support evolution. On the contrary, there is much more evidence than the other theories for how life came to be. When you compare two cats taxonomically, they are the same species. They can reproduce and produce fertile young. This means that all of the cat species are the same, Felis Domesticus. How did all of these come to be? Selective breeding is the key. Selective breeding is basically forced evolution upon a species. When people saw the first Siamese cat, they decided to make more. By breeding them with another cat, there is a chance to produce more of that mutation. More evidence to prove the existence evolution is homologous structures. These are structures that are made of the same thing, but fill different tasks. If you examine the skeletal structure of a whale flipper, it has the same bones as a human hand. There are many other situations such as this.
In conclusion, Evolution is a rather simple topic if you put time into fully understanding it. To evolve, all a species needs is a beneficial mutation and the death of the original version of the species. When an isolated species evolves away from the original population, it will form a new species. Since the original version is still alive, the species hasn’t evolved, but a new species has formed.

BROAD GENERALIZATIONS--what do you think you just posted?
--Your assertion is as bad as some of the doctrines of false religion, that have been posted--no substance, reasoning, logic--you know like Mr. Spock!
--So your saying that Adam should not have been given free will as a choice?
In some parts of the world, peoples wives & husbands are chosen for them, HOW would you handle that denying of choice?
--How about the cloths you wear, what if your master(lets say) got you up when he wanted to and put out for you a dress , even though you might be a man or visa versa--WOULD you easily give up your free will as you express the mockery of what God has given us?
--Your evolution is like the fairy tale-- "The Emperors' New Cloths" no substance to the invisible fabric as there is absolutely no substance to the greatest joke in all of science.
----Oh I forgot only those who were intelligent could see the invisible magic cloth as only the intelligent can see the amazing ideas in the pseudo science--
Note the view of objective reasoning:
*** w77 7/15 p. 421 Evolution in Retreat ***
Norman Macbeth, a Harvard-trained lawyer, decided to approach the matter as if he were arguing a court case. He compiled evidence for and against evolution. After many years of intensive research he concluded that the evidence against evolution was so strong that, as he said, “no theory at all may be preferable to the existing one.”
Macbeth further stated: “In the field of evolution most explanations are not good. As a matter of fact, they hardly qualify as explanations at all; they are suggestions, hunches, pipe dreams, hardly worthy of being called hypotheses.” His reaction to a typical book supporting evolution was: “If I had to oppose that man in court I could get his case thrown out."
--You and your resident evolutionists, make these sweeping statements and yet we hardly ever see any noteworth reference--the only references available are the writers of the joke of evolution, thus no validity! When that doesn't work then you choose to belittle those supplying reasonable answers.
--Where in the world do you get the idea of perfection of Adam, meant that he could not CHOOSE to become imperfect?
--You honestly cannot see that is exactly what he did along with his wife, then you apparently cannot read?
--Ask a child what Adam did --and you might get answers such as he did bad, he sinned, he did not obey God, he ate the apple?
--You don't have sense enough to see free will involves choice!
--If you want to blame somebody why don't you put it on the 2 worst human traitors--Adam & Eve
They were the ones who threw away their perfection!
=====
--Have you had something PERFECTLY made , like a shirt and yet wore out?
--Have you ever had a PERFECT watermelon and if you did not eat it within a certain time, it spoiled?
--WHY THEN would you call it a perfect shirt. Or a perfect watermelon?
--Do you really get your highs with the contempt you fire at God,--thats' a biggy, you can't get any worse than that --it seems like you are indeed aiming right at him when your laughingly doing your shooting? Happy mocking!

It's a darned good question, and personally I think examples like the one you mentioned are clinchers for the argument that evolution is a fact. And it's not just in the primate line: it's being detected across many different species. Anyone who's curious should check out the book "The Making of the Fittest: DNA and the Ultimate Forensic Record of Evolution" by Sean B. Carroll, which contains as clear and persuasive an account as any I've seen.

All I can tell you is the fact that God's Word calls you a fool. Psalms 14: 1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good. Psalms 19: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. I agree anybody that says the universe happen with a "big bang" something must be wrong. The reason why we are not perfect is because our grandfather disobeyed God. Romans 5: 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

If you are talking about slapping creationists who are usually Christians, then you are giving them a big case for proving how evil you are. Regardless of whether you believe how life began, you don't stand a chance in convincing people that you are right. People who are wrong always insult and threaten people first. Its a sign of weakness. Lashing out and being critical is what people with a weak view point do, because they have nothing else to stand on. Hate and arrogance does not equal superiority. It equals cowardess.

I love torturing idiots, but I also like a little challenge. They deny mathematics, cosmology, physics, logic, chemistry, astronomy, and are complete closed minded. It is easier than making chicken salad in a closed hockey rink full of chicks and mayonnaise with a hockey stick. Every sling leaves them bloodied.
Start a rumor that God made the big bang and the oscillating universe is God's yo-yo.

If you answer my question.I will answer yours. It is said the chemicals came together in the ocean to form amino acids. Then it formed single cell animals. What is the probability of that happening? If it is all true.Prove it to me.If it is logical then, the answer can't be just because it did.Unless you are afraid to figure it out scientifically. Then work out where DId the original matter come from in the big bang.

Heh hee...Do you know what..we are made out of the same stuff. The couple % difference could fill up many books though.
I am OK with that if you you believe that you are evolved with the monkey and from the monkey etc...I am certainly made by God.Maybe God evolved some of us and made some of us...I do not have a proof either way. I believe in Genesis record because to me it is my God's eyewitness account on what happened in the begining. : )
One of the most important things that reason and intelligence can do for us is make us aware of our own limitations. The created, and conseqently finite, minds of people are incapable of fully comprehending the finite and selfexistent.

But, anyone who knows anything about biology at all knows that evolution explains all life. If a person objects to evolution, then they probably don't know enough biology to understand the link, let alone find fault with the science.

All the research that Jane Goodall did on primates... it seems to me that all of them are just like all the other animals. So if we evolved from these primates why is our behavior so bad that we have forcefully police ourselves with people we call police officers who sometimes has behavior as bad as the rest of us. And when did we figure out we needed to wear clothes to hide our reprodutive parts
