What if they all the major religions contain some truth but are twisted to the purposes of the clergy and rulers? That would mean that you would have to investigate more deeply to find the truth. Most likely you can't be a deck chair danny and get this job done. It calls for a pure heart, the abandonment of prejudice and usually, though not always, lots of effort and time. You can shorten your time by looking at something that pulls the religions together in a comprehensive history, shows how they are all related and where they are at today. See the link below.

The bottom line is, none of us will "find out" whether we're right or not until the end of this life, so:

If my religion is wrong:

What difference does it make? If there's no way to know for sure, then I face the same risk of being wrong no matter what I believe in (or don't believe in). So what could I do? I can’t change what it is that makes sense to me, unless new information were brought to my attention that would make me reconsider what I currently believe, and I can’t just willfully change what does and doesn’t make sense to me, so if there’s nothing I can do to change it, why worry about it?

If my religion is right:

Fabulous, but still, what difference does it make? I cannot know for sure what is and isn't true. The best any of us can do is just to look at everything objectively, and according to our own personal experiences and opinions, put together whatever makes the most sense by separating it from things that don't. And because everyone's experiences and opinions are different, what makes sense to me may not make sense to someone else, and visa versa.

What I don't get is why people worry so much about what everyone else believes. It's all about what makes sense to you, not other people. Figure it out for yourself, and let everyone else figure it out for themselves. It's as simple as that.

There is God. I have witnessed, so no matter how many people argue or whatever, i know what I know, but those moments were between God and I, not anyone else, the truth will be reveled to them with their own seperate plan. I am not one to try to convince others of what I know, because it doe'snt work like that. You have to be chosen to be saved and have the truth revealed.

So does that mean we should live by and believe ALL the religions of the world, just to be safe? There is no religion on this earth that makes any sense to me. So I will stand by my disbelief and take the consequences.

I'd be hurt, but I'd live. I mean, it's certainly possible, but many people are happy only because of their religion. It'd hurt many, but it might even help more. Good thought.

I am a devout Christian. If I am found to be mistaken I've lost nothing, and been saved from a life of alcoholism and drug addiction.
Next question.

I personally do not believe there is any possibility that the bible is anything other than what it claims to be; given by inspiration of God.
