Speaking for myself, I respect everyone who does not try to cram their superstitions down my throat.

Of course some atheists show signs of ethnocentrism. But what does that have to do with atheism. If you want the best example of ethnocentrism, look at religion. "Only those who believe like me and by my religious rules will go to heaven." That is ethnocentric!

I don't think "ethnocentrism" is the word you want. It only really applies to an ethnicity, not an ideological group.
Nitpicking aside. I feel that any group that claims to have all the answers in a subject we have zero actual data on (i.e. what happens when we die), is exhibiting the peak of human arrogance.

i've got seen that tutor. this is a gaggle of amatuers who've, frankly, no historic or archeaological credentials. Why would the conclusions of a gaggle of fluffs who do no longer even have serious expert credentials to decide the information challenge any serious philosopher? in assessment to Christians and intensely some different manufacturers of theists, atheists many times are no longer worried related to the help of "appeals to authority." i do no longer, as an occasion, care what somebody has to declare a pair of question. i prefer to earnings the information myself. And, for that reason, considering I do have a complicated degree in historic previous, and that i'm a consultant interior the coping with, use and authentication of information, I actual have the adventure and credentials to make a reasoned judgement. he fact of the difficulty is that there is not any self sufficient, credible, modern-day documentary information that Jesus even existed. there is, then, some distance decrease than no longer something to tutor he by some ability arose. remember - mendacity for Jesus remains mendacity.

What does ethnocentrism have to do with this?
These arguments are based upon ideologies, not ethnicity.

You do realize that ethnocentrism has to do with race or culture? Your question makes no sense.

I think I would like to have you attempt to articulate and defend that little belief of yours since it can be argued Western (especially American) Evangelical/Fundamentalists show much more egocentrism because they have more of a rigid unwavering set belief system.
However, since American Christians rarely have interest in other cultures or care of what goes on outside their backyard, you may have a point.

Other humans, regardless of faith orientation, show signs of ethnocentrism. Faith or non-faith makes no difference.
