They go on about what Jesus said but from my understanding he was about love, tolerance and understanding - the world would be a better place if people did actually follow him. Yet almost without exception Christians are judgemental, intolerant, ignorant, dishonest and have no real redeeming qualities.

One I have in mind complains that atheists can't swear to promises because that means swearing to god and atheists dont believe in him. So Christians are more honest? The same person swore on her mom's life to a lie designed purely to cause pain and it was a lie. The mom died less than a year later. This person has repeated the same sick lie in different versions since then.

Why can't Christians just practice what they preach?

Do we need a "Frequently Asked Questions"?

What would go on that list,

I propose the first question should be,

If man came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?

And then there could be a sampling perhaps of the best answers put into the Answer part,

A panel of regulars would select from the Best Answers. Since the question,

If man came from monkeys, why are there still monkeys? has been asked 4098 times, there are approxametely 4012 best answers to choose from. Maybe the panel could choose 5 best best answers, and the regulars who are here daily for an hour or more could vote and then a best best best answer could be used in the all encompassing your a doubebag for asking this question thats been asked 4098 times e-pamphlet.

What do you think?

I was flabbergasted when I read that someone opposed same-sex marriage on the grounds that it went againt the religious institution of marriage.
*ring! ring!* it's the clue phone folks, pick it up.
Marriage is a LEGAL institution. NOT a religious one. Get that simple and irrefutable fact through your thick skulls once and for all ok?
If you don't believe me, try this simple experiment;
Head down to a church or synagogue or mosque and try and get married without the legal paperwork. Can't be done.
Now, go to city hall and get married by a judge or a Justice of the Peace without ever mentioning a magic sky-pixie.
No problem at all.
So, to sum up; Marriage is a legal institution and not a religious one. Making marriage a CIVIL right. You cannot deny two consenting adults the right to enter into a legal contract. And that is exactly what denying same-sex marriage is.
Understand now?

Why am I born with the sins of those who came before me already on my shoulders? I didn't eat the fruit from that tree (going on the fictitious assumption that it existed). Wouldn't a loving god look at us all as individuals and not just assume that we are inherently bad? Just because the capability of evil exists, does that make us naturally evil?

Does this make god the most cynical guy ever?

Personally, I choose to believe on a happier note -- that people are inherently good instead of evil.

And if its only the holy spirit that make us want to do good, then explain the atheists/agnostics that are charitable and loving people?

Deutoronomy 18:15
The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.

I thought Jesus was the son of God and not a prophet... so a prophet like Moses??? Would you think Mohammad fits the criteria?
