Actually, it makes perfect sense that God is a personage. We aren't speaking without knowledge.
Here's one scripture. In the Old Testament, in Genesis 1; 26, it reads, "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: . . ." How could God create us in his own image if he doesn't have an image to create us after?
Here's a list of a few other scriptures dealing with the corporeal nature of God: Genesis 5: 1, Gen. 9: 6, Gen. 32: 30 (Jacob saw God face to face), Exo. 33: 11 (Moses saw God face to face), Luke 24: 39 (this is after Christ was resurrected), John 14: 9,
Acts 7: 56 (Stephen's vision---let's see you explain that without God being corporeal), 2 Cor. 4: 4, Philippians 3: 21 (explains the image even more---that our vile bodies were actually fassioned after his glorious body).
Well, here are a few for starters. There are several more I could have listed, but many of those say the same thing and I think this is enough for now.
Now, the idea that God does not have a body actually doesn't come from the scriptures. It actually starts in the Nicean Creed. I think that to some extent the idea in the Nicean Creed came from where Christ says that he and his father are one. But that is very clear that he meant in purpose, especially when he told his disciples that he wanted them to be one as he and his father were one (John 17: 11).
I hope this helps. Have a great day!

excellent question!
excellent point!
most people have NO concept of God.
most people see God as a kind old man with a white beard sitting in Heaven.
that could not be farher from the truth.
it is said that no human can look upon the countenance of God without being blinded.
that is how great and glorious He is.
How shocked so many will be come Judgement Day.....

Religion cannot be proved as it was ordained of God that the absolute, incontrovertible proof be withheld from man. The reason? We are here to learn to live by faith. Spiritual proof is given to all who sincerely seek.

As far as the nature of God goes, we know because He has revealed himself to prophets. The prophets have given us to know something of the nature of God. We believe the prophets to be speaking the truth. We believe it is the truth because the Holy Ghost testifies of truth to all who sincerely seek.

For the best examination of the psychological basis for the anthropomorphizing of deities I recommend Sigmund Freud's classic work, Moses and Monotheism. You can ignore his historical speculation (which he is unqualified to engage in) and focus on his psychoanalytic commentary on the origin of monotheism in the human psyche. In essence, theists replace the all powerful god-like parents of their infancy with an bigger all-powerful parent god in adulthood. It's an absurd delusion, but it meets very deep-seated needs for emotional security, especially for those who never disconnect from their childhood dependencies, which explains some of the very childish and immature behavior of the more radical believers and why they act as though any questioning of their beliefs is a threat to their existence as though you were threatening to take away their parents.

Because of the bible, it says we were made in Gods image and it shows him acting like a human, a vile, sadistic, judgemental, arrogant, egotistical, jealous human.

You won't get evidence from outside scripture. Christians arent able to understand ideas from elsewhere.

Humans need something that they can easily relate to. In both the Bible and the Qur'an, the word 'He' is used only as reference to Allah, not to imply gender, but merely to give him a human quality and make it easier to relate to.

God is Alpha and Omega. He was not born , but still existed as Trinity. Do not make judgements on God with your puny brain.

Mock Him and you will never see Him as He really is- Omniscience, Omnipotent, and Omnipresent. (Look up Christian Dictionary on what it means).

God uses anthropomorphisms to describe Himself. Jesus revealed He (masculine?) is a spirit and has no form. Since Jesus is the incarnation, we can confirm he has human traits in Jesus.

They don't get ideas. They read the bible and that way they don't have to think at all. The bible says he so OBVIOUSLY god is a man.

In the Bible, God is said to get sad, happy, angry, He rejoices, etc...

We are also made in His image.
