well now that ain't a fair question
the union between two people has been around a lot longer then christanity so that defeats the purpose of your question now doesn't it. but just to answer your question marriage deals with love. if two people love each other then they should be allowed to get married and live until the end of their days, weather it be married by a judge, or their religious person. personally gays and lesbians should be allowed to marry, if they are allowed to live together and show their love, and they are defout to each other then why do people see it they're (meaning religious people) right to interfier with their (meaning the gays and lesbians) lives.
or do all the religious people want to fork over the marriage benifits. i think that would be fair.

It is still a man and a woman who may procreate if they so choose and the Lord is willing. In a Gay "Marriage" no matter how many times you try one will not impregnate the other. Either your both plug ins or your both receptacles, it just don't work and it is disordered.

Because marriage is a legal institution that effects taxes. Money is more important than a god in the eyes of the government.

In the Bible it is written that a man and a woman are to marry, it does not say a Christian, or perfect people but a man and a woman.

good question. i do not think that people in the west we.. the majority any ways respects the sanctity of marriage. i never understood that one either. it is just a hipocraitic distraction that our government uses to distract us from the real issues that are causing the deterioration of this country.

hmmm....right winged folks are defining marriage as between a man & a woman, it has nothing to do with spiritual or non-spiritual individuals.

Believe me, there are some religious weirdos on this site who would take marriage away from atheists and other non-Christians.
