Why am I born with the sins of those who came before me already on my shoulders? I didn't eat the fruit from that tree (going on the fictitious assumption that it existed). Wouldn't a loving god look at us all as individuals and not just assume that we are inherently bad? Just because the capability of evil exists, does that make us naturally evil?

Does this make god the most cynical guy ever?

Personally, I choose to believe on a happier note -- that people are inherently good instead of evil.

And if its only the holy spirit that make us want to do good, then explain the atheists/agnostics that are charitable and loving people?

You are absolutely right. The true God does not hold you accountable for Adam and Eve eating the fruit. He only holds you accountable for what you do.

He does not look at us and assume that we are inherently bad. He loves us. We are His children, His creation. If we were inherently bad, what would that say about Him? No, we are inherently good. We make bad choices as it seems that bad choices are often easier than good one.

As I said, people are inherently good, after all, we are the children of God. He placed within each and every one of us a certain basic desire to do good. That is what we often call our conscience. This basic level of right and wrong was given to all people whether we believe in God or not.

By making bad choices we drive that conscience away. That is why some people are able to perpetrate such heinous crimes. They did not reach that point all at once. They started out with little things. That didn't seem SO bad, so then they graduated to bigger things little by little until they reach a point that heinous does not seem like a big deal to them. Some may even feel pricks of their conscience as they get to the bigger things but often just rationalize that now that they are into it, they cannot get out of it either because it is an unbreakable habit, or they are afraid of other people, or some other rationalization they come up with.

God loves all. He wants to forgive all and will forgive all who come to Him in faith. He does not hold anyone accountable for what other people did. He only holds us accountable for our own deeds.

I know what you mean. If you follow all the rules in the bible perfectly, you will be perfect, so give it a shot. Just because everyone else is not perfect, does not mean you can't try to be.

The fact is that if your mom has aids (it is an example not an insult), when you are born you will have aids. Imperfection is like a sickness. If some one is imperfect, their son is imperfect. Does this make God cynical? No, it is not his fault that Adam and Eve became imperfect, just like it is not his fault that your mom (remember it is still an example) decided to have you and pass on her aids.
