I know leaders with crazy wild kids. I was sent to a camp one time and I did not want to attend. I went and what did I find! Youth leaders have sex and chasing girls. Not young girls but other youth female leaders. Pastors kids chasing girls and girls chasing guys. I was glad I cam because I got to witness lie. I thought they hide behind God and the bible. Anyway, what do you think?

i see so many arguing about creation V evolution
yet ive just scrolled through some parts in Genesis and i dont see what the fuss is
accepting evolution does not prove creation wrong
it is merely different wording ...
given the time that the bible was written , it was an easy explaination for something big
biblical words for something that we may now understand as science
why do people hang on to the literal content , thus creating a great divide between science and religion .... when it CAN be compatible ?

I read it just to find BLATANT contradictions in it and throw it back at the Christian's faces (if you want some, just google "bible contradiction". There's PLENTY for everyone to share.)

For a Book of God, it seems to lack logic in certain places.

I commonly have lucid dreams, when I can control exactly what I do and who I speak to; frequently I am aware I am waking up moments before I do, and have time to say 'goodbye' to whoever I was with in the dream! Firstly, is this a common trait?

Second, a recurring theme throughout my dreams is that they take palce in a huge house/ mansion, although the actual architecture is never the same in two dreams- but I have the feeling it is the same house each time. It is absolutely huge, beyond our comphrehension; endless corridors, rooms the size of warehouses all decked out in polished wood and plush carpets (think Buckingham Palace on 1000 times the scale). And I know that in the dreams the house is either mine, or soon to become mine- or has been promised to me.

What could this truly massive (as in impossibly huge), gothic style mansion mean? Quite often I am with a lot of friends there, just milling about and having a ball. The garden is huge and sunny.

What do you think?

I'm talking about the Tree of Knowledge that Eve ate the apple from.

Why did god put a tree there if it clearly endangered his creations? Doesn't he have all the knowledge of the world anyway?

Something about this fairytale doesn't add up.

You are walking through the woods and you come upon a beautiful waterfall. Would you assume that a person built the waterfall by hand or that it is the result of natural forces?

(See, I can ask idiotic questions too.)

I am British, but I have visited America, met a lot of Americans abroad, and had American friends on my home turf. I have found them to be very nice, polite and well-mannered, both the ladies and gentlemen, and by-and-large very well educated.

Now I know this is of course not representative of the whole US population (an observation that works both ways, of course), but do we really have to lay in to each other so much? Our nations are allies, have been since the Independence.

Isn't it sad when we're at war together in the Middle East (justified or not), with very few other friends, and yet we have to bicker between ourselves? It verges on pathetic.

The total lack of respect for our nation's war veterans (particularly as far as WW2 is concerned) on this site is sickening; the Americans saved us, no they didn't, yes they did etc etc.

Can't we just accept that tens of millions of our guys, girls and children died so we could slander them 60 years on?

Let's get along?

yes the bible was written by MAN. but how can u prove what parts are inspired by god and what parts are inspired by satan. can u prove that none of it was inspired by satan? and how can u say so? you claim satan is a "great deceiver" but he cant deceieve you into thinking the bible is gods word? why give him a title if u dont allow him to do things related to it?

calling him a liar, and saying he cant lie? a deceiver that cannot deceive?

hmmm... what if the bible is actually satans word? for those of you that say, "bible preaches good, while satan is evil" but if you want to deceive people you'll tell them what they want to hear, (the bible can be taken to justify many different things, infact there are so many christian denominations because we interpret it how we want to hear it). so any other ways u can prove its not inspired by satan?

for the record those that say, "because the bible says so" dont even bother, that argument is extremely pointless in this case.

Preface: If you answer is "I dont believe" or fine you can leave that answer if you wish but it is not what I'm looking for. If you wish you had reson to believe I hope to get some good answers here.

The Question: For christian believers, what are the things that most cause you to believe in God. Smaller more specific answers would be more appreciated than general ones. Two things that wow me are below.

that so many of the old testament laws given while they may have made no sence at the time in retrospect were good for the people (food laws actually propmoted better health unbeknowst to the isrealites)

Or that the creation account revealed to such primitve people must have been divinely inspired to recocnise that there was a beginning. That light matter and people did not always exist. Also that plants and sea creatures came before land animals and finally humans. Which is the account science now gives us but in a greatly simplified version.

You see a work of art, and you automatically assume that someone painted it.
So why can't we assume with the design and order in nature that there is intelligence behind that as well? Why must those who assume that there must be a God have some sort of "delusion"?
