My thought on Christians preaching the Bible and sinning at the sametimeshould not be teaching.
I know of a place in NM near Santa Fe. Many of the students come from Texas. Baptist conference center near pecos, NM. Texas kids bring the fun and they love sex.
I work there but not a christian. I would fine rubbers during student week and college week. Whoa
Baptist girls will chase guys all summer. It doesn't take much to become a youth leader.
The cooks hitting on the girls and one ended up going to his house! The stories I have for you. lol
anyway, the Pastor preaches and cant' control his own home. maybe driving off his own family. PK's turn and go wild.
Youth Leaders I think are the liars...They get into positions and use it to get to girls. Sung leaders looking spiritual by singing "spiritual sungs" then the girls says OHHHH "what a spiritual man"...Bam you are in!
Whoa....lol

I know you only asked for answers from Atheist and Agnostics, but I am an Christian and I would like to speak to that comment.
One of the major reasons that men and women come to God is because they are seeking joy, comfort, love and acceptance that they cannot find in the natural world no matter how many drugs, how much alcohol and how much sex they engage in. They have still been left with a part of their hearts that is empty. Some stop, go a different direction and find God. Some stop and continue living a slightly empty life but giving up the drugs, alcohol and indiscriminate sex. Some continue with that life, claim to be Christians, but don't walk the teachings of God in their lives, and some just don't care and stay where they are.
It isn't up to me or anyone else to draw any conclusions about beliefs or life styles. I would just ask that you not make a judgment about Christians based on the behavior of a few. Be blessed.

Yes! But, they sure get a lot of play in the media. You'd think that more sane beliefs would prevail amongst the talking heads on tv, but not! People who began a conversation by saying that they are a christian somehow are warning you that you should be careful of what you say or they will take umbrage. I briefly noted that the majority of folks who answered this question answered that yes 'it's a cult' more or less. I wonder why so much attention is paid to them? Do religious sects who use rattlesnakes get the same play? How about people who bite the heads off chickens? Thanks

lol Brings back memories of my southern baptist days. Yes, many a girl came back with a "condition" after youth camp. Lots of making out, hickies and sex by mostly the ones who claimed to be the biggest christians. There were only a handful of us who were stunned by it all. Most seemed to think that's what camp was for.
Anyway, IMO the pastors, choir leaders, etc. were no better. Plenty of them got caught doing things they shouldn't too. Would be nice if more of them practiced what they preached, walked the walk and so on.

I think that many actually believe their superstitions. However, I think they are very ambitious, too. I also think that the clergy profession can attract people with pedophilia problems, as can any profession that permits close contact with kids in a "trusted" role.
I've also seen studies that indicate that a strict religious family can be detrimental to a kid's development. Even if they aren't harmed by the superstition, any more than normal, they might lash out at the image of "pastor's kid" and try to establish their own identity. This happens often with parents with hard line rules.

According to the books of saint and the Bible(Lot), it results that everybody is tempted by satan , everybody except God and the angels.
When people are tempted , the reason is a little bit lower, but there is no reason to sin, but , only God can save you, from sinning...so have to be at good terms with God..
This is what I think...although currently I am not atheist....
Remember that the priests are not saints, they must become...
They killed Jesus, this doesn't mean they don't belive God exist...on the contrary, ..they are sure,...but they can be proud..and sin...because God doesn't like this proud people, only God has a reason to be proud..He did everything..

Honestly I knew this would come.
See, I went to a camp once as well...
And they all did the same thing.
And all the people do is "pray to GOD" that their "sins" will be forgiven....
Um...yeah...some guy in the sky is gonna forgive you for being a Christian leader.....teaching it to kids....and then do EVERYTHING wrong....
Ok...not everything wrong.
But they honestly try to tell you this stuff and make you all PERFECT (I know cause I used to be a Christian) and then you see them and say : And you wanted me to not be that!? When you do it!
