I'm not an Evolutionist nor am I extremely religious. I believe in a creator, but sometimes I also question. So I mean no disrespect. I'm just wondering: Evolution is just a theory, but if you think about it, it's pretty believable. It's pretty believable in the way that Animals millions or thousands of years ago can be linked to the Animals of today. Would you say?

Also, for the Religious folks who aren't too thrilled with the idea of Evolution: Who is to say that God, our Creator, didn't create the world in the form of Evolution?

Adam & Eve? A mere mortal wrote that story, Not God. "Yes, But it's the Word of God." Ok, but again: A Mere Mortal Wrote It.

Daniel just seemed to be God's man for the crisis, he was cast into the furnace, and had no fear, He survived the lion's den. He had total faith and zero fear. He was a great leader and caretaker of his people. Who is your favorite and why?

The church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints claims to be the only true church on the face of the earth. How true is that? Is every other denomination wrong?

Whether positive or negative, the name of Jesus generates the most ferver and emotion of any other name. Walk into the room and say Jesus Christ and see if you don't get noticed by everyone within earshot.

to believe that the big bang created the universe is to believe that an explosion in a printing press created a phone book. right?

During services There was a quote from a child on the movie Jesus Camp saying God only likes to go to churches that are full of energy running aroung and screaming speaking in tongues etc what do you think? Personally I like church I go to to to be a silent reflection upon my beliefs and prayers that screaming and running around disturbs me actually.

Why does the Bible promote sexism, slavery, murder, and the like? I realize these are old testament things mostly, but then why were they ever written at all, as inspired by God. It seems contradictory that God is love, yet God encouraged these things. Can anyone explain? Does this not have the fingerprints of human bias all over it, such that a man who wished to promote slavery, murder, sexism, etc. wrote them in a book of "God"? I'm honestly curious if someone could explain this to me.

These blatant moral wrongs are not reconcillable with the "God is love" philosophy, in my opinion.

Please do not take offense. I truly want to understand. Please give thoughtful answers, and refrain from quoting the Bible - that doesn't help me understand any better, only perspectives and reasoning do. Thanks in advance.

Atheists aren't going to change their minds. The only reason that I come here is to present an arguement, that usually cuts down the middle in agreement. There is the occational person that has a biblical question that I try to help them in understanding. But, after a few visits here, its just repetition. I did learn a bit about other religions in the first few visits though.

If God were to come to you right now and said to you, I give you a choice take your child and sacrifice him/her to prove to me you believe in me would you do it. Do you believe that strongly that you would be able to do it. This time it did happen and there was no "lamb". How do you feel. Do you still think you did the right thing. If you say God has his reasons, is this enough. Was it worth the sacrifice to you to enter the kingdom of heaven. Do you live the rest of your days in hapiness knowing you will enter heaven even though your child is gone from the here and now.
