Disclaimer: I am not trying to be accusing, I am just very curious.

I ask this because in the early days of my life in the church many times I have been beseeched to discontinue in my own philosophies. In other words, even though I was in my mind and heart faking the religious experience, I felt as though persecuted for asking questions, inquiring, etcetera. Please tell me why some Christians are OK with Philosophy, when my experiences have been so bitter?

Would they be lost in an eternally indecisive and grey nether world, what must it be like to be a lone agnostic, a fence dweller alone with nothing at all either side of him/her.
Without theists there would be no need for atheists, would the agnostic simply disappear too?

"Paradoxically, a person who exhibits such tremendous ego and self-confidence in reality has such low self-esteem and such a fragile ego that he cannot abide any expression other than his own, for fear of annihilation of the self. Therefore everything that is not under his control is perceived as a threat."

A radical Muslim cleric has urged hundreds of supporters meeting in Sydney's south-west to join a global push to create an Islamic utopia.

Dr Yusanto called on followers to denounce capitalism, warning that if Islam was not followed in his Islamic super-state, jihad would follow.

What is Sharia law and Hizb ut-Tahrir?

Also what is jihad?

Shouldn't we now all move on and take collective responsibility for the planet, the natural world and take individual responsibility for our own actions instead of pretending we do things for God?

Let me mention just a few verses from the Old Testament and New Testament and tell me what do you say about them:

“When the LORD your God brings you into the land where you are entering to possess it, and clears away many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and stronger than you. And when the LORD your God delivers them before you and you defeat them, then you shall utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them and show no favor to them. (Deutronomy 7:1-2)

“When you approach a city to fight against it, you shall offer it terms of peace. If it agrees to make peace with you and opens to you, then all the people who are found in it shall become your forced labor and shall serve you. However, if it does not make peace with you, but makes war against you, then you shall besiege it. When the LORD your God gives it into your hand, you shall strike all the men in it with the edge of the sword. Only the women and the children and the animals and all that is in the city, all its spoil, you shall take as booty for yourself; and you shall use the spoil of your enemies which the LORD your God has given you… Only in the cities of these peoples that the LORD your God is giving you as an inheritance, you shall not leave alive anything that breathes (Deuteronomy 20:10-17)

Now therefore, kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman who has known man intimately. But all the girls who have not known man intimately, spare for yourselves. (Numbers 31:17-18)

Even in the New Testament we read the following statements attributed to Jesus saying to his disciples:

“I tell you that to everyone who has, more shall be given, but from the one who does not have, even what he does have shall be taken away. But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. (Luke 19:26-27)

"Do not think that I have come to send peace on earth. I did not come to send peace, but a sword. I am sent to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law" (Matthew 10:34-35)

I think it depends. You might say children are exempt, but what's the cut-off age?

I think it's around 12.

If you're 13, and you're still an atheist, then you're going to burn forever.

People say that's not fair, but it's in the Bible. Jesus said the only way to be in Heaven is through him.

Look at it this way, if there's NO cut-off age, what's to stop an atheist who's 14 from going to Heaven? What about 15, 16, 17, 20 ,30, 40, 50?

The Bible clearly states that you need to believe in Jesus to go to Heaven.

If you're an atheist, unless you're a really young child, then there's no hope for you.

What do you think the cut-off age is?

Ted Turner once said I am looking forward to going to hell, because thats where I belong.

Does anyone else feel this way? Don't worry about what others say or think, just your thoughts on you.

do you find that you resist bettering that relationship.. because when that relationship moves towards the 'better mark' that they are thanking Jesus that you came around and that he is working in your life and relationship... I am going through this with my mom and it just makes me just want to give up... the progress between us is not an miracle.. it is because of her backing off and my self growth as a person. Would you want to just give up when they praise the Lord that you 'are coming around'

Be fair

IF YOU WANT TO POINT OUT THE BAD

THEN GIVE CREDIT FOR THE GOOD----OR YOU ARE JUST A HATER LOOKING FOR A SCAPEGOAT.
BE OBJECTIVE----NOT INSULTIVE.
FAIR ENOUGH?

So how do you stop sinning once you get to heaven? Does God do something to us in heaven to permit us to stop sinning? I have given myself to Jesus, but I still sin. I want to stop. I pray for forgiveness and ask God to give me the strength to sin no more, but then I sin again. Even if I get into heaven, I don't know how to stop.

Whenever I post a question on an issue like abortion, or theological debate, it is often shut down quickly by religious people hitting the abuse button, providing no good reason.

However, Yahoo! Answers goes along with this and pulls the question. Are they actually enactuating this kind of religious censorship?

AS A SIDE NOTE: YES, I WILL SEE THE IRONY WHEN ENOUGH RELIGIOUS PEOPLE GET TOGETHER AND PULL THE QUESTION DOWN. JUST FOR ONCE, WHY DON'T YOU PROVE ME WRONG AND LEAVE THIS QUESTION ALONE?

HELL, EVEN GOD DOESN'T HAVE AN ABUSE BUTTON!
