So how do you stop sinning once you get to heaven? Does God do something to us in heaven to permit us to stop sinning? I have given myself to Jesus, but I still sin. I want to stop. I pray for forgiveness and ask God to give me the strength to sin no more, but then I sin again. Even if I get into heaven, I don't know how to stop.

You are choosing to sin so choose to stop. It is that simple.
I do not understand why or even how you can compare earthly life to the life that will be given in heaven.

Just because you are saved does not make you anywhere near perfect. In other words, we still sin. The best thing would be to bring some of these things up with some fellow church members. Get prayer and do your best to avoid whatever it is you are struggling with.

I don't have to tell you that you have those few things that you do bad without really thinking. And then you have THOSE other few things you do with much thought and you know they are wrong. But you do 'em anyway. THOSE things are what will take a group of other people praying and guiding you to beating them.

The idea of being saved if you will is a daily choice. The more you honestly want to let go of something, God will grant you that freedom. Remember that repenting means having a change of your thought process. To say or do or think this is wrong. Why? It is not of the Kingdom of God and does nothing to further my God or myself.

Jesus is about relationship, thus he knows full well you are going to trip around every now and again. I think he is cool with it though. Not to say he enjoys you doing it. But there are many things you can and will learn from your mistakes. Because, regardless of how much we repent. We will make mistakes. It is in our nature as humans.

To sin no more goes against the nature of humanity. However, as long as you have relationship with Jesus (key word relationship) then you should be find.

What happens when you get to know somebody? You share secrets and stories and wisdom. You help each other out when your in a hard place. You spend time with each other. Hanging out, talking and so on. And when you or your friend screws up something. You forgive each other. And do your best not to continue with whatever negative behavior you had before hand. (even though you might in the future.)

Good Luck!

By the way. There is nothing wrong with you. We all sin.

Belief in Christ is the way to heaven according to the christian faiths. You never stop "sinning" only you can try and make an effort to stop sinning. You are human, failable and with feelings. If you are making it a point to stop sinning and feel sorry for the wrong things that you have done, you don't have to worry about getting into heaven.

You are going to heaven....

Sin is the influence of the author of it in your life. Most people do not understand what sin is. Sin is disbelieving the Bible and you do sins because you do not think the Bible is true and accurate.
Look in here how many people do not believe or understand even what the Bible says. Jesus toke all your sins and all you have to do is confess them to him and you can walk away guilt free if you can believe that is true. This is the required sacrifice you must do to be accepted by God, along with water Baptism and taking communion.

In the Bible it talks about those who belong to God being changed. He will change you so don't worry. There will be no sin in heaven..you will be made perfect...we have the confidence of finding this in the Bible.
Focus on preparing for eternity..learning to be more christlike, repenting and walking closer with Jesus..begin changing what you read, think, see etc..it is a process..but noone will succeed in totally stopping sinning until all is over and Jesus changes you.
God Bless.

Heaven will be perfect. There will be no such thing as sin in Heaven. You won't be tempted to sin because sin, Satan, evil have been defeated and will no longer exist. God knows we sin and unfortunately, still do. That's the precise reason Jesus came to earth. He did it on our behalf and for our good...not His own. He did it to forgive sin, make us holy and pure in Gods eyes. When we die God, via Jesus taking sin away thus making us sinless and holy, will forgive our sins and give us everlasting, perfect, wonderful life in Heaven. Try your best. Give praise and thanks to God. Attend Church. Talk to a pastor. And things will become clear to you. God Bless...

You are given a new body and spirit in heaven. One incapable of sin. You are wise to try to stop sinning but don't beat yourself up, we will all continue to sin until heaven, just do your absolute best!
May God bless you!

You will be purified of your imperfections before entering Heaven.

If it is free will that causes/allows us to sin, then the only real choice is for free will to go out the window in heaven. In other words, Heaven is like being assimilated into the Borg: Nothing human is left, you're just another automaton singing God's praises over and over again for eternity with all your individuality and personality sucked out...because having a personality is by definition an "imperfect" state.

Sounds like hell to me.
