Whenever I post a question on an issue like abortion, or theological debate, it is often shut down quickly by religious people hitting the abuse button, providing no good reason.
However, Yahoo! Answers goes along with this and pulls the question. Are they actually enactuating this kind of religious censorship?
AS A SIDE NOTE: YES, I WILL SEE THE IRONY WHEN ENOUGH RELIGIOUS PEOPLE GET TOGETHER AND PULL THE QUESTION DOWN. JUST FOR ONCE, WHY DON'T YOU PROVE ME WRONG AND LEAVE THIS QUESTION ALONE?
HELL, EVEN GOD DOESN'T HAVE AN ABUSE BUTTON!

Yahoo claims that all reports are adjudicated by a "customer services representative". It's pretty obvious that the R&S section really tests that claim.
R&S, like a number of other sections like the GLTB and politics sections are magnets for the abusive, but also require a level of skill and understanding to distinguish abuse from genuine bona fide debate.
As a relative newcomer, I can see that the site providers may be between a rock and a hard place.
There are clearly problems with actioning abusive posts in a timely manner, and also ensuring that genuine posts are not deleted, which is in itself a type of abuse.

Real Christians are against abortion.
saying that i would not hit the abuse button for you wanting to state your point of views.
Who has not have doubts about their beliefs? We are human and subject to error.
So I say who is to say who is right or wrong? If in your heart you really believe what you are doing is right then you have a right to your opinion.
If enough people of your opinion agree with you then you should rule.
I think in some cases abortion would be appropriate even though my Church does not believe in abortion.
Churches have been wrong before in the past and they are run by humans who are not perfect so who are they to judge?
God gave man free will to sort these problems out for ourselves..or else what is the use of free will?

No, I don't think Yahoo! is even aware...I think just flagging the question enough times regardless of what the question is or whether it is really abuse, will shut it down.. Do you really think someone gets paid to sit and read the thousands of abuse complaints and has a little rule book, and says who gets to stay or not...Come on it all automated...You must just post your questions in an offensive manner?! Try asking differently!

I have come to the conclusion that the Yahoo referee process is done by a computer program, which will pull a question (or answer) on one or two complaints, and that there is no human interaction involved. Anyone who is so stupid as to ding me for some of the things for which I have been dinged is literally too stupid to live. So, the Jesus freaks can and do zap your stuff merely by flagging it, whether you deserve it or not. (I wonder how long this answer will last...)

I think its yahoo itself that censors questions. I have had a few pulled down in the past. I think its just the program that they use to limit it to spirituality instead of hot topics. You could ask whatever you wanted if it was up to me.

it is my information that Yahoo outsources the job of modifying content fabric to India, (it is the position each and every of the violation notices originate) and that the individuals who try this job and also evaluate our appeals for freedom of speech are practically all Muslims. all of them have phony American-sounding names, yet they are not one in all those folk who comprehend that all and sundry has a precise to exhibit their critiques, extraordinarily if it is going adverse to faith. in case you go with to ***** to Yahoo administration, you should apply snail-mail, because all our e-mail lawsuits also go by ability of the palms of Indian Muslims. company headquarters are in Sunnyvale, CA. i have curiously lost the manage. perchance information on a thanks to get Yahoo administration's interest can be a sharply worded letter from the ACLU. they could be only the leverage we go with to fix freedom of speech to this communicate board.

I suspect that Yahoo doesn't bother to read this stuff - it would cost money. I guess that they just pull any question somebody squwaks.
