Religion & Spirituality - 27 January 2007

For those who believe in God, if God has a plan for everyone, as is often stated, then what is the point of prayer? And if God knows from the beginning to the end, often stated, what is the point of prayer? If God already knows or has planned, per se, for you to get in a car crash but live, what is the point of praying to live.? He already has a plan so how is prayer going to change that. This is a serious question. Not meant to be condescending or rude, I just wanted a thoughtful explanation.

i try to follow the rules an obey my 10 commands nothing works for me. i've been doing this for a lone time now, don't misunderstand im no way tried of been good. see i believe that there is no such thing as left or right just straight forward, what im to do in the 21 century,am i the only one feel this way

Evolution scientists say that that a pair of chromosomes from an ape-like ancestor fused together to create humans. Apes have 48 chromosomes. Humans have 46 chromosomes. Makes sense? WRONG. Fusion would lead to down syndrome or something detrimental. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.

My son has cerebral palsy. please pray for him. he recently had an operation on his back and is in icu at johns hopkins hospital. please pray for his pain management and also to pray for his,lungs and recovery. i love my son. he has such a wonderful personality. please lift him up in God's grace. If God's will does not bend to prayerful requests, then we have no influence over him. Why then would anyone ask God for anything?

including all the things you love. I would want all my lost pets and animals to be able to have the same thing happen to them but I unfortunately deep deep down am just afraid we all just rot and thats it for us. Nothing afterwards, and it doesn't bother you cause you cease to exist.

A few people have stated that there's no such thing as an atheist, because an atheist says there is not god, but there's not proof that there isn't a god, so they must be agnostic.

But then again, by the same logic, there's no such thing as a Christian becaue a Christian says there's a god, and there's no proof that there's a god, so they must be agnostic as well.

Does this make sense to anyone? Catherine, I'd especially like a response from you, since you were the last one who said this.
