For those who believe in God, if God has a plan for everyone, as is often stated, then what is the point of prayer? And if God knows from the beginning to the end, often stated, what is the point of prayer? If God already knows or has planned, per se, for you to get in a car crash but live, what is the point of praying to live.? He already has a plan so how is prayer going to change that. This is a serious question. Not meant to be condescending or rude, I just wanted a thoughtful explanation.

Prayer is communicating with God. He is our Father, our King, and our Friend. Just as we talk to our parents and friends and others, we talk to God. We confide in Him, telling our deepest thoughts, our fears, our desires and our needs. When we pray to ask Him for something, He answers us, just like a Father would and tells us yes, no or not right now. When we pray we should always pray according to His will. What is His will? That we ask.

Good question. I think Christians should spend more time praying that His plan would be revealed to them instead of selfishly praying for themselves. But prayer isn't just asking questions. Prayer is a way of communicating with God for many reasons and I wont fill up this site with all of the answers. Let me know if you want to know more.

the point of prayer is for the good of us. God doesn't need prayer, we do. Prayer keeps us focused on God. God is all-knowing ahead of time, but we aren't. In our time frame, we need prayer and god's protection since we are inferior creatures.

Prayer is direct communication between you and God. God created people to talk with him and that is the whole point.
What I would like to know is what is the point of all these pointless questions?

He wants us to develop a relationship with him. He wants us to know him.
